Chalé Tapas Bar — Restaurant in Esposende

We arrived at our reservation on time, got our table and our menus, and had to wait 30min to order our food, in which during that time we called the waiters several times and were ignored. We ordered several tapas plates and got our first order 1h10 after our arrival. We were a group of 5 and the portions were quite small (as expect from that sort of dish) in quite a big plate, and we waited an average of 15-25min between plates. During those times that we were waiting I was observing the waiters and saw them chatting among themselfs and discussing which channel they were going to change in the TV. While several tables were with dirty dishes, including our own table. The communication of the staff was close to none, no excuses for the wait nor any time expectation for the next plate. In the end we finished our last dish and went personally to pay on the counter, where I had to wait once again for someone to be available to inserted all the orders on the system and print out the receipt. Again, no communication what so ever, they didn't ask one single time if we liked the dishes, nor if we needed anything else. Defenitly not going back. I only hope that they can sort out their staff, in regards to communication, friendliness and...

IMPORTANT: my five stars are value based. If you are looking for food on a very high level that is close to art or an elite service than you should probably go somewhere else. And if my englisch is bad than that is because i am german :D Review: the service was friendly and good also you need to be a little creative if you are not speeking portugues (but the basics were in english). We waited for our food less then 10 minutes but we the bar was not very full. The prices are insanly cheap from a german point of view ( 3€ for a burger). The portions are huge (in our german mentality we thought that the portions must be small when the prices are so low an completly over commited - the xxl Burger is enough for 2-3 people :D ). The food was very delicios, the burgers are good (way better than mc donalds but maybe not the best burger you will ever eat - still a good one to remember). The some tapas are basic but good and some were exelent(e.g. The tapas plate/mix). The ambiente was something between Restaurant and sportsbar but enjoyable anyway. All in all it is a very good place to go if you are looking for delicios basic food for a very low price. But remember: one dish...

They allegedly opened at 7 PM, and we arrived at 710 PM. The staff just sat down to eat, and they looked disgusted that they had to get come over to our table. They came over and literally dropped menues on our dirty table and went back to their supper. We moved to a clean table, sat for a bit, but felt really awkward and decided to leave them to eat their supper. They should just change their hours to open at 730 PM so their staff have 1/2 an hour to eat...
