Marisqueira Arranca Mariscos&Petiscos — Restaurant in Faro

We were looking for a seafood restaurant and came across this on Google maps. It was 10km away and we were deciding either to have some mediocre fish at the nearby local restaurant or potentially give a try at this place that could be shut at 3pm. Eventually we took the plunge called a Uber to Marisqueira and boy we were so glad we did! The food was very fresh, I had oysters, clams (two different types!) prawns, and a huge crab - it was finger licking delicious. Sometimes you get that seafood itch and in Portugal only a proper Marisqueira can satisfy it. Luckily for us, we have a fantastic one just a 10 minute drive away in the hillside village of Santa Barbara De Nexe.

Marisqueira Arranca gives us a platter exploding with shelly goodness all the trimmings plucked from the sea just 15 mins away, iberico pork croquettes and to top it off, finish your meal with a rare prego sandwich, an ode to one of our Lisboa favourites cervejaria ramiro. This shellfish speciality restaurant definitely deserves more recognition - it has some of the most amazing seafood we’ve ever had, we never knew shellfish could taste this sweet and fresh! We got the seafood platter for two, the portion was good and we were really full! Although we really wished we had more stomach space for other items on the menu :) the man who runs the place with his family is very friendly, and we enjoyed our dinner here very much.
