O Beiral — Restaurant in Fundão

A familiar and casual place to have a wonderful meal.

Two loosely separated dining rooms, where the mix of pleasant décor and expertly located warm lighting enhances the welcoming local atmosphere.

The kitchen is hidden behind the entrance reception, this looks like a bar with some arches. It seems to function as a place to support the restaurant and not to serve drinks, but that may be possible, I think...

The WC is clean, with a separate place for those who just want to wash their hands. There's a first aid kit for an emergency.

The staff is friendly and efficient, as much as possible. I can imagine there are those rushing days where things may not go so well, but today was not one of those days.

The restaurant's speciality is grill on the stone. A hot flat stone is brought to your table with a piece of veal (or prawns) so that you cut and cook the meat to your liking and you can used a mix of sauces to elevate the flavor. Salads and fries complement the dish and I advise to go along with a sparkling rosé wine and it shall be nearly divine. There is, of course, many other excellent meal options but I come here for the grill on the stone!

For short, a pleasant place for pleasant meals. My favorite in Fundão so I come here every years in...

Por onde começar, chegamos ao restaurante eram 14h, entramos... um rapaz simpático nos aconselhou bife na pedra pois a cozinha já tinha fechado!

E assim foi... pedimos, com o bife vinha um acompanhamento (arroz ou batata) e salada.

Resumindo, servem o bife (sempre no olhar mal disposto e arrogante do dono e de uma empregada...) e o mesmo vêm sem acompanhamento ao que pedimos arroz e veio mais a salada, e trouxeram mais a batata (não pedimos) mas pensamos que como estava a encerrar fosse uma atenção produto que fosse para o lixo ou por gentileza quisessem dar ao cliente mas não por um pires de sobremesa cobraram 1,75€ sendo que por chegarmos em cima da hora serviram um bife que mal dava para 2 pessoas e um pires de sobremesa de salada que nem comemos.

Pagamos 1,80€ por 5 fatias de pão, e 1,20€ por uma colher de manteiga...

Dirigi-me a casa de banho sob o olhar do gerente como a pedir que nos fossemos embora, saimos do restaurante eram 14h58.

De ressalvar que bife era bom, os molhos banais (maionese de alho, molho cocktail, manteiga de alho...)

A não repetir nem aconselho... má disposição e berros servem com fartura, já a contar na comida talvez 50€ nem cheguem para um almoço de duas pessoas sem grandes...

Super friendly staff. They were very open to the requests we made and always tried to provide a solution. Unfortunately, There are not a lot of vegetarian options. The desserts are the best part as they have a lot of variety and all home made. I would definitely add some more healthy options but overall the restaurant is great and the people...
