"The Rustic" Restaurant — Restaurant in Lagoa

What to say about this place? We arrived a 3 pm to have lunch with a family of 8. We had to wait a little as the restaurant was busy, no problem with that. The waiters came to take the order for the drinks and brought them quite quickly. What started after that was a nightmare being with children aged 3 and 4. No one to be seen for the food order, after insisting a little someone came over and took our order. We then waited an hour and when asking, the waiters said the food was coming. The children started to be very hungry and I asked one of the waiters if he could at least take care of the children. At this time, the restaurant was almost empty, we have been sitting for 2 hours and still no signs of our order. The waiters seemed desorganized and no one really knew what was their job. From no where a waiter we had not seen at all sat at our table and started making jokes. No one knew what was going on, so I spoke to him and asked him what he was doing and if he could please spend his time making sure our food was being prepared instead of wasting his time. At this point everyone is starving and a bit stressed dues to waiting for more than 2 hours. Other tables were getting served before us. This waiter Thiago then asked me what we had order as if nothing had been prepared so I went to the kitchen with him. There was an Italian waiter that starting yielling at me in Italian with disrespect. They were all telling me that to arrive at 3 pm was way to late to arrive at their restaurant to which I basically replied that they could have told us and we would have moved along, simple. The food came out, it was cold, very basic and to be honest none of us were hungry after such a terrible service. The italian waiter witch was from Sicilly, said something to to the rest of the waiters about us that had something to do with the fact that we were French and that it was always the same with us... I did not want to carry the argument at this point as we really wanted to leave. We all agreed that we arrived late but a simple warning and some organization would have been welcome. The waiters were a bit useless, especially the sicilian girl that came out to yiell at us.. We did have 10% discount for the wait but I'm not sure its worth the trouble especially that the food was not that great. For this matter and after a terrible experience with O Rustico, I would...

EN: The food is good. I ate mixed roast fish, although for the price they practice should come more quantity. The service and lack of professionalism represented a problem with my visit as a customer to this restaurant. Ordered a starter of squid strips and the mixed fish for main course. After 30min only came the fish to the table. I asked for the entrance and the manager, the person who attended me, basically blamed me for the entrance not coming before the main course, why? Because according to her, I ordered the starter after the main course, when she should have done her job as it should be, and recorded the orders in the right order !! After this situation, and the main course was already on the table, I told her that there was no need to bring the starter because the fish would cool down. The teasing maid / manager offered the entry I had requested at the next table. So, Mrs. space manager / housekeeper / owner, requires a little more professionalism and respect for the clients who pay you the wages! Place to not return.

PT: A comida è boa. Comi mista de peixe assado, embora para o preço que praticam devia vir mais quantidade. O serviço e a falta de profissionalismo è que representou um problema à minha visita enquanto cliente a este restaurante. Pedi uma entrada de tiras de lulas e a mista de peixe para prato principal. Quando passado 30min só chega a mista de peixe à mesa. Perguntei pela entrada e a gerente do espaço, a pessoa que me atendeu, basicamente atribuíu-me a culpa de a entrada nao ter vindo antes do prato principal, isto porque? Porque segundo ela, eu è que pedi a entrada depois do prato principal, quando ela è que devia ter feito o trabalho dela como deve de ser, e registado bem os pedidos pela ordem correta!! Depois desta situação, e de o prato principal já estar na mesa, disse-lhe que já não havia necessidade de trazer a entrada porque o peixe iria esfriar. A empregada/gerente em tom de provocação oferece a entrada que eu havia pedido à mesa do lado. Portanto sra. gerente/empregada/dona do espaço, requer-se um bocadinho mais de profissionalismo e respeito pelos clientes que lhe pagam o ordenado! Sitio...

Unfortunately our experience here was not the best due to the staff incompetence.

It was a busy Friday afternoon - I get it - we may have had waited extra. There were 6 or so waiters and one of the waiters took our order, then another brought us drinks and another waiter got us starters which took about 40mins to arrive and when we realised that that's not what we ordered another waiter came and said that if you didn't order and it's here then you have to pay if you eat. We refused to do that and continue waiting... we waited over 2hrs for our mains!!! Then we realised that one of the meals was wrong and had to wait again to get the meal we've ordered. Wasted so much precious time and it's all due to lack of competence of the waiters.

Food was actually really nice, but wouldn't go back due to the staff and horrific...
