Casa de Pasto A Cataplana — Restaurant in Lagoa

I am sad to say that all and all, I can not recommend. Why? Well, The food was ok. It was tasty, but we waited for it apprx 1,5 hours! That is a lot. And some of the dishes were totally cold.

The Fado was also fine. Not excellent, but ok. The waiters (The Male waiters) were friendly. But - what dissappointed me the most, is that even though we asked for the house wine (and we ended up ordering 3 bottles!), they served quite expensive wine instead. And I asked couple of times of the waiter, if the wine we were served really was their house wine?!

The waiter did know what we ordered - he even laughted to my portugues... But he understood. He just wanted to have more money of us. Dissapointing. And NOT something you do, If you value your customer.

We have travelled in Portugal for years, we have eaten in several restaurants, and we know, this is not common behaviour in Portugal.

In the end we all were quite dissapointed of the way they fooled us. The feeling next day was confused.

So -if You decide to go there, be really careful to make sure of the Real price tag on what you are ordering.

We wanted to try some legit Catalana while here and our hosts in Portimao said to head here in order to do so without paying the tourist area prices. We did the mixed version and it came with lots of clam, a few mussels, and it seemed like 10 different kinds of shrimp and crab. It was delicious and too much for the two of us. With a bottle of vinho verde we were at just under 60 euros.

They also had several less expensive versions with monkfish, cod, and a couple others.

No reservations were needed for dinner. They can seat a lot of people. We sat upstairs so our view was of the adjacent farm instead of the street and the street noise wasn’t...

Restaurant rénové récemment. Structure impeccable, agencement moderne. Rien a redire m le chef cuisine à merveille les spécialités régionales typiques. Le seul gris problème est que les doses servies sont disproportionnées. Nous ne sommes plus dans les années 80 pendant lesquelles la quantité était plus importante que la qualité. Nous devons respecter la nourriture et service des portions raisonnables. Le gâchis n'est plus d'actualité. Par ailleurs, je préfère manger en terrasse, côté rue. La seule table de la clientèle disponible était occupée par la patronne... Dommage. Manque de considération pour les clients ? À l'heure de déjeuner, la patronne n'aurait pas autre chose faire que de priver les clients de tables rares ?
