Casa do Rio — Restaurant in Lagoa

One of the best restaurants I've visited in the area for a long time, our family has been in the area for around 15 years now.

We were recommended by another couple within our resort and attended as a table of 6. Arriving as the sun was setting we were greeted by wonderful views across the river while we had a pre dinner cocktail.

The drinks menu is extensive and contains high quality wine. We opted for both white and red Portuguese wines which were very nice.

Our dinner was not rushed, the staff let us enjoy our drinks on the terrace before retiring inside to order our food. The food menu is fairly small but again, high quality.

Food ordered we sat and relaxed in the well decorated and spacious restaurant area. The staff were very attentive and helpful from start to finish.

I opted for the pork belly bao buns to start which were delicious, the pork belly was so tender and had a little bit of spice from the spicy mayo sauce.

For main I had the beef loin which was cooked perfectly medium, a fantastic char to the outside of the steak to give it great texture as well as flavour. The steak was served as is, no sauce as such which I much prefer, it boasts the quality of the meat.

Dessert was a walnut cheesecake which I shared with my wife, or at least tried to - it was so tasty she claimed she was unsure what happened to the missing 60% of the cheesecake?!

Overall we had a very enjoyable meal here, I'd suggest it be a treat night type venue. It's still reasonable for the quality of the food but being a small menu and rich food you could easily overdo it. I'd be interested to know how often the menu changes.

Tucked away on the riverside of a beautiful little Portuguese village, this excellent Mediterranean restaurant is not to be missed. I'm having second thoughts about giving a 5☆review because I want this to be my personal hideaway. But, that wouldn't be fair to the staff at Casa do Rio.

The ambience alone is worth the drive. Nestled next to the Rio Arade, with a view of the magnificent bridge and the small boats gently passing by, you will think it is a dream. Casa do Rio is the ultimate romantic getaway.

The sevice compares to the best Lisbon eateries. And the food? Worth writing a review. We had the vegetarian pasta. Gently seasoned roasted veggies swimming in perfectly cooked spaghetti pasta makes a wonderful pairing.

We had an outstanding experience today at this fantastic place. My wife found Casa Di Rio in Google and we went there with our daughter. We hat Appetizers, main, desert and wine. What a blast! The different seafood dishes have been excellent, as it fitted in the environment with view onto the water and the bridge. We had the sundowner which perfectly melted into the different dishes. The wine was excellent smoothing into the scenery and the easy mood this night. The atmosphere was easy and Luis and his service crew have been doing a fantastic job in helping us forgetting our day to day headaches.
