Everything is bad experience here!! First, waitress is not smart. I paid the bill and she gave to the receipt to my partner. What is this?? Second, we ordered homemade bread but they charged us per person so it was 2. Bread was chopped so smaller and some of them are like someone’s left over. Not even cut by knife. My partner said he felt the same way. Olive and butter was good. Cheese is so small and expensive. Main dish for spare rib is no seasoning at all!! Just grilled. I have to put salt myself. Meat and veggies are so hard… my partner’s chicken was good. Small beer €4.0, glass of white wine €3.50 very expensive. Taste was not good at all. Restaurant close at 21:30 but they turn off one of AC 20:30, so many flies always around the place, always near our drink and bread….Spend 35€ for feel so bad!! I do not recommend this place for anyone. I’m really disappointed we choose this restaurant. Education to the waiters are very important. Give to the receipt who pay the bill!!!! Not to other people!!! Do something about flies!! Season the food properly!!! Do not charge the bread per person!!! Never heard it!! If this restaurant keep doing this they will lose a lot of customers. We are from Lisbon but we have a lot of friends and families in Lagoa so this was very disappointed experience. Read moreO Casarão serves authentic Portuguese cuisine prepared on a traditional Portuguese outdoor BBQ grill. The service was super friendly and professional and the outside garden seating offered a pleasant and relaxed dinner setting. The peri-peri prawn and seafood soup starters were excellent and the flavours were well balanced. The Sirloin main courses consisted of quality beef cuts that were grilled to perfection (precisely medium rare as requested). The mains were accompanied bij a massive portion of crispy Portuguese style french fries. These were delicious (crispy and light hand-cut from real potatoes) and probably some if not the best we have tasted so far in the Algarve. We completed our meal with an exquisite chocolate mousse and a tasty Rice pudding. We were even offered a complimentary Pudim de ovos on the house, so we could try this house specialty (doce caseiro). There was a small error in the bill at the end of the evening but this was quickly corrected to our satisfaction. A special mention to our server Ricardo who made us feel very welcome and ensured everything ran smoothly during our thoroughly enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend visiting O Casarão and we will be coming...
Read moreA hidden gem in Lagoa that serves great food with an authentic Portuguese taste. The restaurant has recently undergone a complete makeover and the open plan interior update looks fresh and modern. There is also ample parking available and a large terrace perfectly suited for 'al fresco' dining.
The prawn starter is fantastic, super fresh and exquisitely seasoned for that well balanced peri-peri spiced flavour. The steak was an excellent quality cut and grilled to perfection. It came precisely medium rare as requested and accompanied by a tasty side of sauted vegetables and a generous serving of crispy fries.
The Staff was friendly and attentive making sure that everything ran very smoothly during our thoroughly enjoyable evening. Also a special compliment for our server Ricardo, he made us feel very welcome as always. His blend of professional service and a friendly sense of humor is great. I can definitely recommend giving O Caserão a try and we will be...
