There’s always bad days, and I’m not one to give bad reviews, but the rudeness and lack of self-awareness from the owner made me do it.

I ordered a small jar of wine and instead got a liter jar. The waiter told me to drink half and she’d take the rest back since they “ran out of small jars.” Ended up sipping white wine out of a beer cup because apparently wine glasses were also “out.” I started off with a funny situation, but honestly nothing too surprising from a small town restaurant.

When the bill came, I was charged for two portions even though I only ordered one. The owner insisted I had to pay because it was written on the staff’s notepad as “two” , despite me clearly ordering one. She even claimed I should have somehow guessed the portion was for two people. Apart from the fact that it was my first time here and I had no clue about their portion sizes. apparently you need to bring a fortune teller if you plan to dine here.

No apology, no accountability, just rudeness and zero self-awareness from the owner.

To top it off: poor customer service, long waiting times, and they even forgot my drink until I reminded them twice.

Honestly, if any TV producer is scouting for the next “The Office” style comedy, this place is already cast and ready to shoot. The chaos...

Vandaag hier weer een keer frango piri piri gegeten [deden dit al vele malen eerder]. Uitstekend weer! Te veel frites en salade besteld, ondanks waarschuwende vraag van bedienster[in Portugal kan je beter halve porties bestellen, behalve natuurlijk van de kip]. Vriendelijk. Oudere man eerder was soms wat nors, maar dat was uiterlijk, hij hielp prima. 2d: rekening voor 1 kip, 2 keer salade, 2 keer frites, een liter witte wijn en ik kop expresso. ........ 26.05. Fooi verdiend! Hoezo 50 euro en 10 euro voor salade? Klopt niks van. Deze zaak heeft al jaren een stabiel laag prijsniveau. Verwarring met ergens anders? Moesten overigens ook even wachten. Serveerster reinigde tafel grondig! Vroeger werden er aan tafels die niet helemaal bezet waren, andere gasten gezet[kon ook gezellig zijn]. Nu post corona doen ze dat terecht niet. Zaak loopt als een trein, vooral meeneem en vooral Portugees. Als we in Lagos zijn gaan we hier altijd even heen, net zoals een rondje door de natuur boven Lagos [Vila Obispo, Aljezur, richting Monchique, halverwege er af, richting Lagos.
