O Panças — Restaurant in Lisbon

This restaurant was recommended by a local. There is always a queue here but we were lucky to get here just before the queue picked up again They don't have an English menu but they can recommend you dishes or you can use tour translate app. They do most dishes in half or full sizes which serves 2-3 for the half and up to 6 for the full size. We saw lots of locals with their families dining here and the portions are huge. We opted for half size octopus which was for 2 people but could easily feed 4, and the frilled salmon. The octopus was really fresh and tender and was so easy to eat (not like the chewy octopus were used to). The grilled salmon was so fresh and tasty and even the potatoes were really good. While visiting Lisbon I stayed in Benfica, where this restaurant is located, our house host suggested this place and we went after finding the restaurants in Lisbon centre very disappointing. We were truly amazed by the quality of the food here, all around us huge trays of fish, meat and potatoes were served and they all looked amazing. We had the seafood rice and it was just divine, enough for 4 people but we eat well so we nearly finished it. The wine was delightful and at 2.75 per half litre you couldn’t ask for anything better. The total of the dinner was only 26 euros, a great find. Go early if you don’t want to wait as it fills up with locals. Waiters...

Conheço vários países do mundo e restaurantes, mas um lugar mais desprezível que esse não me lembro...fui a esse lugar (06/03/20) após pesquisa na internet, já que estou me hospedando na Amadora e fica perto. Sentei-me nessa espelunca para tomar uns chopps e comer algo. Pedi um choppinho e fui analisar o cardápio com calma, pois como é de costume no Brasil, bebemos antes " para abrir o apetite". Antes de terminar o primeiro choppinho, me dirigiu um garçom perguntando o que eu iria comer..respondi que iria beber antes para pedir depois...um minutinho depois, veio outro garçom, mais áspero, e me disse que o estabelecimento era para comer...fiquei perdido, já que obviamente um restaurante que vende comidas e bebidas, era para se beber e comer, a critério e a gosto do freguês. Pedi o segundo choppinho, e após me servirem, outro garçom, mais acentuadamente, me disse que se fosse somente para beber, eu não poderia ficar no estabelecimento. De pronto ( o com cabeça quente )pedi a conta, e paguei com uma nota de cem euros ( o troco me deram com muitas moedas). Infelizmente, não chamei a policia e nem fiz ocorrência policial, para depois tomar as providências judiciais. Não é possível que os portugueses aceitem em pleno 2020 estabelecimento como esse. Em nenhum lugar do mundo que fui, vi um ambiente tão ruim quanto ao tratamento com o cliente. Ahhh, e quanto ao preço? Na noite anterior jantei em Benfica pela metade do preço que vi no cardápio (e iria comer) e em um restaurante muito mais sofisticado. Um lixo de lugar que espero que as autoridades lusitanas fechem em breve pelo tratamento (xenofóbico?)...
