What a quaint, warm, inviting pastelaria. A perfect spot for afternoon cafe & sweet. And oh my, all the options looked and sounded amazing. Only being able to chose one each, the husband went with pastel da nata and said it was slightly warm, perfectly baked, flakey crust and just the right sweetness and texture of the custard. My almond cake (pie) was amazing. Hard to describe the flavor other than delightfully melt in your mouth yummy.

The gentleman working (possibly the owner) was friendly and we had a great conversation about the sights of the town. Be sure to go see the fontes (fountains)!

This is a family run cafe in the heart of Alte. They have a wood carved village silhouette on the wall with historic black and white Fotos beneath, the best view of the valley on the balcony, real espresso, spacious, clean, friendly atmosphere. It feels like home, with a reserved table for the matriarch of the clan, watching over. Fresh desserts and bon bons. A wonderful place to be in Alte. Best self made pastries which are heavenly delicious. Everything is made of high quality and with LOVE. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The interior very clean and tasteful with fits the place perfectly. The family running the Pastelaria is very warm-hearted and all-around friendly.
