Restaurante Palácio Piri-piri — Restaurant in Loulé

Me and my partner went here for dinner we arrived around 19:30 and the place was already busy which we took as a very good sign. They asked if we had booked we unfortunately hadn't but they still had a table left that we could use. So definitely recommend booking before you go. Everyone who worked there was so lovely and nice made sure we were happy the whole time as well as the manager of the business came out to day hi to everyone. We started with bread Carrots and olive this was amazing. We both had the half chicken one with and one without peri peri. The chicken was amazing it was juicey and the flavour was incredible. We finished the night off with chocolate mousse and cappuccino coffee which again fully recommend as it was amazing.

Firstly, the positives. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they do not automatically force covers in you and the garlic prawns were fantastic. However, this is a chicken place, which is where it falls short. I thought it a little pricey for what it was when I was ordering; once the chicken arrived in was even more upset as there was hardly any meat on it. It was like they had spatchcocked a small chicken but removed all the breast. In two bites it was all gone. There were no locals in there either, which probably speaks volumes. Cheeky bottle of water brought to the table opened and charged 2.50e,but not asked for. 4 e for a beer no house wine available, but we got a rose recommended by the owner, didn't mention the price, but later on the bill it was 15.50e. Took ages for the meal to arrive, husband had ribs, I had a piece of lasagne, frozen chips, no choice of potatonothing special stall, same with coffees, which were forgotten after reminding the waitresses twice, same with bill. Thought over 50e for meal for two was over the top....
