Restaurante Terra d'Alte — Restaurant in Loulé

I have no idea who is writing these reviews. I am portuguese and have been to Portugal multiple times per year for decades. If you want to eat amazing food (not tourist style small portion everyday fare), look for:

1. a restaurant that does NOT have amazing ENGLISH reviews.
2. A restaurant that offers "meia dose o uma dose"
3. go for the place where waiters are exasperated to see you because theyre so full. 4)chose a place that preferably does not have an english translation
4. chose a place where every plate you see is huge and people are enjoying themselves.

Let’s start by saying that the music they played was very nice. But then … This lady waitress didn’t bother to be friendly unless you’re French I guess. We got nothing but scowls and short answers from the second we walked in, while a French couple behind us got a very different treatment: all smiles and fun stories (in French). We spoke Portuguese since we were in Portugal. We felt unwelcome due to this attitude of hers and wanted to leave asap. Food was fine, nothing exceptional,...

We passed by after a hike on the creek. Kitchen was closed but we we're offered sandwiches and they were very good.

Orange juice at its best, Great coffee and the food was very good for a fair price.

Friendly owners and good service.

Some people might call that place basic, I would call it romantic and original.

I can highly recommend this restaurant when you want to see how the people from around like to eat.

Even without a main dish it was awesome.
