Restaurante Delhi Darbar Mafra — Restaurant in Mafra

My wife and I went last night. We spent more than 25 years in the Middle East (Dubai) and when we left to live in Ericeira I wondered if I would ever be able to get great quality, authentic Indian food...for 3 years I have wondered, and walked past numerous restaurants claiming to do original Indian food. I am sorry, but if you sell pizza, steak, pasta and Indian I do not regard you as serious purveyors of high quality Indian food (of course you have every right to prove me wrong). My search is over; Delhi Darbar in Mafra is every bit as good as ANY Indian food we have enjoyed in Dubai (and for that matter the fantastic Indian food I have savoured in India itself). These people are the real deal.....stupendous authentic Indian food...and that is all they do. 11 out of 10....and the service was great, and we were able to take our pooch and sit al fresco and enjoy the view and the ambience. We will definitely return, and have told all our friends who also enjoy authentic Indian food from an authentic Indian...

Food was as good as other great indian restaurants we ate in the states. Service was attentive and the upstairs location had a beautiful view of the mafra palace. I'd say this was much better than the other indian restaurant in Ericeira. It was a quick drive from Ericeira for us and parking was very easy. Daal makhani was really good, and the chicken curry with two spicy stars attached to it was also really good (but not spicy really. Maybe two stars for spiceness bc Portuguese food generally has zero spice?). Highly recommend this place. We ordered two curries, one nan and one rice and that was great portion for two adults and one five year old boy (with a bit of left over that we took home). Ah and probably a good place to watch sports. My husband and my son were watching the benclfica sporting match on their giant tv...

This is the best indian food restaurant I have ever been. The location right in front of Mafra monestery, the charming ambience. The tastes are refined, the quality is well above the average, the quality is certainly very high, and the quantity per serve is also above average. Probably this indian restaurant is near perfection. Still with affordable prices. This is really the Indian restaurant to go if you are in...
