O Sobreirinho — Restaurant in Odemira

My friends and I walked in at around 15:30 struggling to find food in the quaint village of Santo Teotónio. With desperation on our faces and growling sounds coming from our stomachs, we asked the lady behind the counter if we could eat in her restaurant. The sweet angel replied: “nobody leaves this establishment without having eaten something. It doesn’t matter the time of day, a meal will be made for a hungry individual.” We rejoiced, our hearts being once again full of hope. As I took my seat, my eyes wandered to the wall where I noticed signs that said menu of the day. “We’ll take four of those, please” “Right away!” she said. As the plates came, our jaws dropped. Never had I seen plates of this stature in the great country of Portugal. On the plates laid what resembled a tricolor mountain range, taller and vaster than the Alps: hills of pork stew, rice, and french fries - enough food to feed 100 soldiers. You may say: quantity is one thing, but quality is another. One indicator - no words were uttered for the duration of the meal. Needless to say, we walked in four starving boys, and walked out four distinguished and satisfied gentlemen.

Thank you very much for your hospitality and kindness. If we ever find ourselves in your beautiful town again, there will be no hesitation where our meal is...

Bom..., uma vez mais, para quem não procura "grandes luxos" mas gosta de uma boa comidinha, visitem O Sobreirinho!!! Vai valer apena!!!

Numa passagem pela Zambujeira, já chegámos tarde para almoçar (já passava das 15h) e ainda assim, fomos muito bem recebidos, a cozinha estava já praticamente a encerrar, mas..., não nos deixou sem comer! Strogonoff de Frango e que delicioso que estava! Um dos melhores que já comi até hoje! Bem servido em dose bem generosa, acompanhado de salada e batata feita cortada e feita ao momento!

Ainda tivemos o habitual covert (pão alentejano, manteiga, patê e azeitonas) e no final, fechei a refeição com uma serradura 5 estrelas a acompanhar de um café!!!

Quanto a custos, 31€ para três pessoas! Nada, mas nada mal mesmo!!!
