They have a simple beach bar section where they sell snacks and alcohol which is probably nice if you go to the beach. This area is a bit messy usually. If you're a group of party goers looking for a few beers and a burger it will probably suit your needs.
From 19:00 you can reserve table for dinner. We went here three times. The food itself was good, which is why we gave so many chances. Our issue was really with the wait staff, except for the man who served us on day 2 (30/06)
One time nearly everything was in order, one time there were slight errors, one time there were aggregious mistakes, perhaps even deceptive;
We communicated that one person in our group was pregnant, and the waiter nodded as if he understood. But it was perfectly clear he did not. He kept offering her wine. Also she asked for everything to be cooked well. But the egg was still too raw.
Even on the second time, when the waiter spoke english very well, the egg was still too raw. My sister ended up not eating the egg three times, but would have preferred to be able to. All three times she said "Everything needs to be well done" and we even motioned a belly and used the word Baby, to no avail.
If someone in your group is pregnant or allergic, you cannot count on the wait staff to understand your attempt to communicate it AND you cannot count on the kitchen to know what/how to cook for a pregnant lady. (don't know about the kitchen's knowledge of allergies, but be careful nonetheless)
They had one waitress that seemed really distand, sharp and cold. Possibly she was overworked. She didn't seem to get much help from her colleagues who seemed to prefer to focus on the snack/bar section and the outside area.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pôr do Sal, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way! From the warm welcome to the impeccable service, the entire experience was truly unforgettable.
The ambiance was elegant, intimate, and comfortable seating. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations.
But the true star of the show was the food – oh, the food! We ordered the Arancino for appetizer, the Tuna belly and T-bone steak for entrees and the Creme de limão for dessert, and each dish was expertly prepared and presented. Flavors were bold, ingredients were fresh, and portions were perfectly satisfying.
The T-bone steak was perfectly cooked to my liking and melted in my mouth. The creme de limão had a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness from the lemon cream and the textures were in perfect harmony. It literally gave me goosebumps.
Overall, Pôr do Sal is a must-visit destination for foodies and anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Can't...
Read moreWe just happened upon this place not knowing anything about its reputation or offerings. What a pleasant surprise! Others in the dining room ordered the Prato do Dia which looked good but we opted for off the menu fare and were not disappointed! The couvert is fantastic! Honey & bacon butter, a black garlic aioli and tuna pate! Omg delicious! Really light chicken wings and shrimp & garlic! And a small vinaigrette salad that I still keep thinking about lol! My husband said his hamburger was the best he’s had on the island! And good wine! Friendly staff and a perfect backdrop made it perfection! Will def bring others here to...
