We went there on a weekend, without a previous reservation, party of 4, for lunch. No waiting time. Ordered 2 starters: the “ovos rotos” (with shrimp)- amazing. The chips were really tasty and the shrimps had a lot of flavor. The octopus salad with sea urchin- do not recommend. Such a small portion and the the sea urchin…sea urchin sauce only. We ordered 3 different grilled fishes: blackbelly rosefish (boca negra), barracuda (bicuda) and cântaro (dont know the translation)- they come with roasted potatoes, pepper salad and a spicy sauce- everything was really nice. We also ordered the grilled octopus with came with the same side dishes and was also really good. The desserts were a disaster. We wanted to try the “algar do carvão” but there was none left. We tried the “esquiça”- a really boring lifeless mango mousse; and the cheese tart- the smallest portion I have ever seen but it tasted ok. We had a bottle of wine and a bottle of water, to share, and 4 coffee. The final price was 40€ for each of the 4 of us… just to expensive to have only have shared one bottle of wine and 2 desserts (that were disappointing). The fish was good though. The service wasn’t great. They forgot our order and did not know the dishes really well. The place is really pretty and the...
Read moreVery friendly staff, always ready to provide detailed explanations about the different meals on offer. Starters, main courses, and desserts are served in generous portions, making them perfect for sharing between two. Each plate is presented as a work of art, and the dishes were absolutely delicious. The menu includes both beef and fish options, as well as one vegetarian option (mushroom rice.) Most of the seafood was freshly caught at Terceira, with the exception of the tuna, which was sourced from another Azorean island. The tuna and sea bisque were outstanding. For New Year’s Eve, they offered a special menu for €65, accompanied by a selection of wines. The pricing of everything is very reasonable.
The only remark: the clams were...
Read moreA clean restaurant with good modern atmosphere and that is where the positive ends. Ultimately the filet minion has more of a beef carpaccio look, taste and portion. But it definitely can't be considered a filet minion and to price accordingly is a fail. People we dined with did like the fish. The chef's desert creation should have been thought through it lacks the look or taste for the claimed presentation and flavor. Overall if you dine with 3 people two main dishes a few glasses of wine and two appetizers with the chef signature desert at about a total of 120,00 euros is not worth it and the out of season local clients will not come after the newness fanfare fades away. You are paying for the location...
