Category: Tourist Area. Category: Tourist Area. This is the first restaurant/snack bar (we don’t clearly understand the difference) on the single street of the salt village of Salinas de Rio Major (see my review). We were attracted by its honey-colored all-wood design, its outdoor tables along the street, its integral shop selling salt, wine by the bottle, olive oil, and handmade chocolates, and the fact that it has been in business since its namesake year. We chose a bar-like, high-top table that enabled us to sit side-by-side facing the street, which was good for people watching. We ordered charcuterie of fresh cheese with nuts and honey (soft and kind of yogurty), beautifully grilled Hasselback-cut chorizo sausage (thin but long), house-made potato chips (if you follow my reviews you know I love them; these were thin, golden, and crispy), and two glasses of full-bodied Tinto. Together with the yummy local bread, lunch was perfect and maybe a little too filling. After lunch, we shopped their shop for the local salt 🧂, which they offer in small-to-large quantities, both for our own consumption and to give as gifts. YouTube’s...

Great little spot. One of the best vegetarian couscous dishes I’ve ever had! Homemade ginga, yummy chips, and friendly service. They get extra kudos for protecting my wife’s backpack which she left there (that’s what one shot of ginga will do to you 😀) until we could go back and get it the next day.
