Kare's café — Restaurant in São Vicente

Excellent quality food and wonderful service from all the staff at Kare’s.

We had food from here several times while staying at a nearby hotel. Every time we went the staff went above and beyond to make our visit an excellent one.

I tried the Pizza’s and burgers and they were freshly cooked using only the best ingredients, the chef does a fine job. Beer is cold, and the Poncha is made fresh; no pre-made / bottled rubbish.

The outdoor seating area is a great setup, especially for the hot stuffy nights. Sometimes the local animals will come and visit but they don’t bother you at all.

I cannot remember his name but the waiter that works part time and lives local is a great guy and his service is second to none (the guy with the yellow shirt sat with the owner in one of the photos on here) he will know who we are as he visited the restaurant on his day off and we shook hands on our last day.

Will certainly pay a visit again when I come back to...

This restaurant/cafe is just in front of the hotel Monte Mar palace. It is a good place to have some drink or a snack. We've visit the cafe twice. First time we wait for the waitter to order food about 15 minutes. It seems to be too much but in Madeira there all have a time :)) Food was good,also small cakes were fresh and tasty. Second time we would like to order food but they closed the kitchen just in 4 pm :)) so we ordered at least drinks and they were delicious. Poncha and Nikita (local drinks) are the best. So it is local cafe with local rules. When you are in vacation you don´t want to focus on mistakes. Better to see the strenghts- tasty...

In the Kare’s Cafe I was four times - each time the food, the service and the atmosphere was great. I had a tuna pizza and vegetarian burger. Pizza was full of toppings and very tasty, the crust was good. Vegetarian burger was great, the fries are just perfect, but one time I’ve heard the waiter recommending Barbecue Burger so next time I asked for a vegetarian version of Barbecue burger and it was sensational!
