We visited Bibo Norte Carago twice during our holiday, and both times it was excellent from every point of view: traditional food, generous portions, great flavor, and very fair prices. 🍽️🔥

We tried Bacalhau à Zé do Pipo, Tripas à moda do Porto, Posta à moda do Norte, traditional sausage Alheira, and the Molotov dessert – everything was delicious, homemade, and full of flavor.

For those staying at Dom Pedro Garajau: do NOT settle for the snack bars right across the street. The food there is, at best, mediocre. Some of those places try to act like fine dining, but they’re just overpriced taverns with attitude. One even told us we couldn’t share a dish because “only one item is para compartir.” LOL. 🤷‍♀️

This place is about 550 meters from the hotel, but every step is 100% worth it. Here you get real Madeiran and northern Portuguese food, warm service, and honest prices. Would absolutely...

From the moment we walked in, it felt like a homecoming. It's the kind of rare place where everyone knows your name, even on your first visit, greeted like an old friend returning home. That's exactly what happened here. It's a place where already delicious food tastes even more extraordinary—it was seasoned with genuine hospitality. We were served by a wonderfully friendly waiter with a perfect sense of humor that the kids adored. He was keen to chat and get to know us, and soon a couple of locals joined in, sharing their jokes and laughter. Ended the evening with special homemade drinks, generously paid for by the locals, and a heartfelt "chin-chin" with the owner. I have traveled all over the world, but I've found the people of Madeira to be the warmest, most hospitable, and friendliest of all. It...

Really nice restaurant to eat. The waiter was super friendly, talked with us a lot, and gave recommendations regarding the food. The food was super good, we had ordered the octupus and codfish. Also the mashed potatoes are to recommend especially. It didn’t bother us but just be aware that they use a lot of olive oil. Also the desserts were really sweet, if you like that then it shouldn’t be a problem. I definitely recommend the place.
