Tourigalo Garajau — Restaurant in Santa Cruz

Christmas Day lunch where do I start. 1st visit due to limited restaurants open & stood waiting at the entrance being ignored by all the staff. Got attention of a waitress who eventually took us to a table. 30 minutes & no server had come so asked a passing waitress who really didn't want to bother but in the end sent someone to take our food order. No wine list just offered white wine, ordered food & noticed others arrived after us getting good service & food before us.

Our food arrived & tiny fillet of espada, 3 potatoes & few carrot & green beans. Again looking at other tables we realised staff must favour locals they know as their plates full of food + many extras. A table behind us complained as were there before us & we had eaten our snack/Christmas lunch.

The wine was disgusting but shock on bill cost €17... Not once did any staff check on us, I had to keep calling someone for basic things like salt. Top it of the place was infested with 🪰 flies 🪰 Several staff didn't know things when asked. Takeaway section was so busy & maybe should concentrate on being just a Takeaway as they were being served quicker & not restaurant quality.

Table next to us after waiting so long end up sending food back as off & bad smell. I'm sure the staff happy looking after regulars but we're all paying customer's & total waste of money. Some Christmas music would have been nice create a nice atmosphere. Should have looked at reviews before we booked. It was an empty restaurant we decided to eat at. First, the lady brought 2 glasses of wine, but we asked for one. Then she brought a chicken separately and a salad (just chopped vegetables) , although we ordered chicken salad (so they remade it and brought the “salad”- just chopped chicken and vegetables no salt and no dressing. The waiter hasn’t shown his smile once, we had to go up to him to order. The tuna which I ordered was awful, it tasted like it has been marinated in that sauce and lost the tuna taste, the taste of the tuna which came through had very poor quality. The french fries which came with the tuna were a disgrace to eat, they weren’t fully fried and didn’t taste fresh.
