Our server was relatively polite. However, his fellow colleagues were forward and exhibited a level of arrogance. The food was slightly overpriced; with the location that was understood.
We did not have a reservation, but the restaurant was at best at ~5% occupancy. Our server kindly asked where we would like to sit, and he went to check to see if the beach patio seats were available. He kindly informed us that they were, up until 14:00. That left us 1.5hrs to eat, which we found to be ample time.
With that being said, that seemed to be a bother to his colleague who was very aggressive towards many seated in that area as they seemed to prioritize the beach seats over the rest of the restaurant. Some that had reservations were also confused why they had to sit there. Was not an enjoyable atmosphere as it was very apparent his colleague was rushing those that were sitting in that area.
Additionally, half of the bill being things we did not order (bread, olives, cheese, butter) is bothersome and discouraging. It was very apparent the gent was trained to do so. I noticed they did so to at lease 6 tables within my purview. You go a longer way selling your menu, opposed to throwing things on people’s tables.
I would be hesitant on returning or recommending this restaurant…solely for the atmosphere and principle. Deny items you don’t want or...
Read moreOne of our favorite places to visit on summer weekends! O Farol has a truly stunning location, with breathtaking views of the sea and the Arrábida mountains — the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal.
The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming, whether you’re coming with family or friends. The staff are professional, kind, and helpful, which makes each visit smooth and enjoyable.
They offer a wide selection of fresh fish and seafood, but also have great options for those who prefer pasta or meat dishes. There’s also a kids’ menu and a big variety of ice creams, which is always a hit with our children.
You can sit outside by the water or inside in the cool shade — both options are pleasant, depending on your mood or the weather.
It’s one of those places where we always feel at home and are warmly welcomed back. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and looking for a great meal in a...
Read moreIf you like flavourfull and well done food, in other words- if you are a foodie, - I would not advice this place. But it is good for a glass of wine and view over arrabida bay. I had worst seafood rice ever. Unfortunatelly lack of flavour and shrimps had low quality too. First bread basket came warm and fresh, whereas second was not warmly baked. Along eith bread came different tiny patè, as well including egg yolk. Unpleasant surprise too. We were served by 4 different people from all one male servant was unpleasant and unpatient, throughout sharp expressions whilst attending us and way of speaking making our service less pleasant. I will not return because we enjoy a truly good quality food, and we do not find fair to pay 80€ for tastless rice. Parking is hustle, as portinho centre itself has some 20 parking places, so count on walking or...
