We recently had the pleasure of dining at D Mestres - Restaurante Alentejano, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and authentic Alentejan dishes that are sure to delight your taste buds.

We enjoyed a variety of dishes, each bursting with traditional flavors and expertly prepared. The rich, hearty food truly captures the essence of Alentejan cuisine. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and ensuring we had a memorable meal.

Amazing food, experience, service… and most of all, such an amazing story!! Cant recommend this place enough. We were attended with so much care, the food was delicious with local specialities, and the interior tells a touching story of realized dreams! The daughter of the owner attended us in perfect English, was super attentive to all my food allergies, and told us how her mother long dreamed of this restaurant, making it a dream come true. This love for what they are doing was noticeable in every little detail, and all the ways of interaction. If you are in the area, I would really really recommend this place! We were also told there was a roof terrace for sunsets with live music.

The best sangria we’ve had in Portugal and this is the 3rd time we’ve stayed in Pêra.

We came to Pêra first in 2019 and ate here, and the food wasn’t great at all. So much so that we remember it as our worst meal here. It has since been taken over a few months ago and the menu is great. We opted for the veal croquettes, veal steak, lamb shank and then a kind of orange roulade cake for dessert (and the sangria of course). We couldn’t fault any of it!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the restaurant itself is lovely. If ever you are in Pêra I’d recommend dining here. We’ll definitely be going back again!
