We’ve been going to this restaurant every time we’ve visited Portugal. I’ve always had the fillet steak and 80% of the time it’s been amazing and very tender and tasty but the other 20% it’s been very undercooked and not very good. Seems like it depends on the chef on the day as to whether they can cook it as requested unfortunately. The sides that come with the steak are very tasty and plentiful and I’ve been told the other dishes like the pizzas are also tasty. We tried desserts once but won’t have them again as the profiteroles seemed like the ones bought from the local Aldi unfortunately.
Overall, a nice restaurant, though as with everywhere, prices are rising and previously the fillet steak used to be great value, but now at €22 and the quality varying so much on each visit, I might reconsider my choice of dish...
Read moreO Cantinho is a favourite! We have been half a dozen times over the last couple of years, at least, and the menu is always interesting and good value local wines. Feels very Mediterranean, though Portuguese specialities like Cataplana & Aroso are well worth trying, as well as the black-pig pork and a great selection of Atlantic fish. Too much? Then just try a pasta dish or a pizza. The couvert is a starter in its right, and the desserts well worth trying! Attentive service. Good value....
