I really want to like this place. I booked for dinner.i wanted 8. Response: oh 8 is absolutely the latest you must be here on the dot. A sign of a well run ship.Ok let's say 7 instead. Alas. 10 min past 7. Still shut. Not a good start. Then the waiter tried to put me in front of the fridge which I challenged and he agreed it not being a good idea.

The place is so hectic from service aspect yet I feel it creates it's own challenges. IE Took a long time to ask what I want. I don't need 15 m to decide. It's restaurants 101. Well we are on the beach ⛱️ and things work different. Just don't pretend they don't. If you book a customer for 7 and you serve at 8 you know something can be improved. Another 20m wait for the bill. At least I was not rushed.

Took me 15 minutes to dispatch the bream. I was hungry.

I had the same dish in Belem and Lisboa. Both were better grilled and seasoned. Sorry ze inacio. Great people, taste and service can be better.

Porto Covo has a special place in my heart. Porto Covo is a friendly fishing village with tiny white houses and great beaches and restaurants. I visited Zé Inácio Restaurant on a Sunday for dinner, so I tried to arrive there early. It was a few minutes past 7 pm, and the restaurant was still closed, and people were already queueing for it. It opened after 7:30 pm, and luckily, I got a table inside the restaurant. Because I was alone, they put me at the worst table at the restaurant's end next to the fridge. I had to wait for the food for 20 to 30 minutes, which was ok because the food was very delicious. I chose one of their specialties, Octopus with olive oil and garlic. It came with vegetables, one sweet potato, two white potatoes, accompanied by the house white wine. The Octopus was extremely good! For dessert, I had the cheesecake, but it wasn't that great. I have nothing to say about the staff; they were professional when serving me, but in the end, I felt they were pressing to finish the...

We insisted on eating lunch at this restaurant on an August day without being allowed to reserve, so eventually we ended up waiting for over an hour. We had been warned, though, so cannot complain too much. It was generally worth it, as the place offers a nice vibe in the centre of Porto Covo, good traditional Portuguese food and drinks with reasonable prices. We had octopus, cod and sardines, which were all good, however not exceptional. Food served to other tables also looked good. The white wine was great as well as the dessert (biscuit cake).
