Gastrófilo — Restaurant in Tondela

I think it was one of the longest waits I've gone through in a restaurant, it was almost an hour. It was that time when you're torn between wanting to leave already and not wanting the time spent waiting go to waste. So when we came here the waitress told us, appearing 15min after we sat, the cod would take long time to cook so she suggested us to order octopus, because they supposedly had everything prepared for it to cook. They only had these two options for fish that day and of course the octopus is more expensive. When our octopus came out it was supposed to feed two people, but it won't come as surprise that 5 small potatoes (another 4 tiny ones were rotten), a slice of bell pepper, a serving of broccoli and 4 medium tentacles weren't enough. It looked like an usual dish served in any portuguese restaurant, but for one person. And for the price of 24€ getting rotten food and tiny pieces of vegetables doesn't line up with good experience. We finished that meal in 5min and went to have some...

What to say?

It is one of the unique places in tondela, you can get either some of the most traditional Portuguese food or, some of the Portuguese adopted (like pizzas and pasta).

I am well aware that their specialty is the francesinha and the chicken soup, but, as someone often returning home, nothing beats the bitoque.

If you are coming with an international card please keep in mind that it won't work.

"Gostaria de expressar minha insatisfação com a experiência que tive no [Gastrófilo] durante minha recente viagem. Após entrar no restaurante e pedir o menu, houve uma demora significativa para que ele chegasse. Posteriormente, aguardo mais de 1 hora para que minha comida fosse servida, o que foi particularmente frustrante considerando que outros clientes que chegaram após mim foram atendidos primeiro.

Infelizmente, a costela de porco que pedi estava mal preparada inicialmente. Embora eu tenha solicitado que a refeição fosse refeita, a nova versão veio queimada, o que tornou a experiência ainda mais desagradável.

Devido à falta de eficiência no atendimento e à qualidade questionável da comida, decidi não concluir minha refeição e deixar o restaurante. Infelizmente, não recomendaria este estabelecimento a outros viajantes."

Isto para nao falar das empregados de mesa muito desagradáveis e mal educados
