Restaurante Peixe Fresco e Marisqueira Promar — Restaurant in Torres Vedras

The only reason I'm giving this one star is because there is no lower rating. When one arrives one gets the impression that one will have an elevated culinary experience but in all honesty one is blinded by the location and view.

My party was a group of three, we put our name on a wait list as we were advised it would be a half hour wait for a table. While we waited we noticed that other parties arriving AFTER us were being seated and served with little to no wait. Upon enquiring we were told by the host that since they were parties of two they were easier to accommodate as opposed to three but we were told that we could place our meal order so that we didn't have to wait longer once seated so we did. Close to TWO hours later we were still waiting and getting close to closing time we walked into the restaurant to again enquire about the table availability. In doing so I looked around and saw empty tables, a member of my party asked why were not being seated and the answer we got was that the tables were for two. Asking to join two tables together we were told that it was not allowed, asked to put a third chair at a table for two that we wouldn't mind we were told no because the tables were facing the windows with a view but if we were willing to squeeze into a table facing a fish tank that we would be accomodated. Thinking this was a joke we stood by and waited a little longer before realizing we were being taken for a ride. One person from my party walked out of the restaurant visibly upset follow by the other and then myself. The restaurant by the time I left had six empty tables and people arriving inquiring for a table quickly seated. Shortly after leaving the host most likely seeing we left called the contact number left for the wait list and said a table was available to which we said we were no longer interested in eating at their establishment. Shockingly the host began lecturing us for leaving....after a two hour wait no less. The nerve, shame and audacity of him. I know this used to unfortunately occur before Portugal became the flavour of the month but I'm left to wonder that if I had spoken English and not Portuguese if we would have been treated better and served as I did notice that the patrons were not "locals".... SHAME ON YOU!! ON A BETTER NOTE WE ENDED UP GOING TO THE EATERY AT THE NEXT BEACH OVER AND ATTENDED TO QUICKLY, THE FOOD WAS GOOD (NOT **OVERPRICED)AND HAD A BEACH/OCEAN VIEW.

We started off with 3 different starter dishes - octopus salad, sea fish soup & shrimp oporto. They were fantastic, tasty and fresh. They are definitely the best starters since we have been in Portugal. The white wine sangria fruit drink was refreshing and delish. For the main dish, we had the must-have or should I say recommended dish that's the octopus rice which was fabulous. Never have we had such a delicious dish. We had prawn, corn bread, and sauteed vegetables as well. The prawn was huge, tasty and fresh. So that was wonderful. In all, great service, good food and drinks. Reasonable priced. The atmosphere was good but it was a pretty warm day and the service staff were very attentive and they made sure to put the blinds down and switch on the aircondition etc. We were very appreciative for their attentiveness. Dou uma estrela porque não posso dar menos. Depois de estar quase 2horas a espera de mesa porque éramos três e só vagavam mesas de duas pessoas... 3 mesas de 2 pessoas livres e nós as 3 a espera eternamente desde as 13h30... pedimos para ficar numa mesa para dois porque já não aguentavamos estar a espera, só pedimos para uma cadeira numa mesa de 2 que não nos importavamos.. perante completa incompreensão desistimos e fomos embora... só as 15h20 nos ligaram porque tinham mesa, a essa hora já tínhamos desistido tal era fome... fomos ao restaurante ao lado, ficamos sentadas com vista mar, bem servido de forma rápida e eficaz. Neste restaurante não provámos nem iremos provar a comida porque devido a esta experiência não pretendemos voltar...

Considerando a resposta recebida alegando "baixo nível" questiono qual o nível de atendimento deste restaurante que de elevado nada tem para além da vista mar através do seu contentor...

Consideram normal terem um cliente 1h45 minutos a espera e ter mesa para almoçar às 15h20... foi preciso viramos costas e desistirmos para nos arranjarem mesa... espero que sirva de lição para aprenderem a arranjar soluções para os seus clientes não estarem eternamente à espera, fazendo uma correta gestão das mesas existentes adaptadas a procura do momento.

Se este gerente que pelos vistos considera sempre os comentários que não o favorecem de "baixo nivel" temos sempre a opção de recorrer ao livro de reclamações público e acessível.

Quanto à questão do nosso pedido que era legítimo, que não sirva de desculpa para nos manter eternamente a espera ao sol enquanto os outros clientes por serem dois entravam logo em vez de fazerem gestão das mesas.

Só na sua "imaginação" é que falou comigo e eu lhe disse que fui para Lisboa, muito menos tenho de lhe dar satisfações sobre para onde fui ou não com o carro!

Se este sr. É o gerente tem muito que aprender no que diz respeito a gestão e fator humano, deveria também aprender a gerir comentários como "baixo nível " que me parece lamentável e que garantidamente que este sr desconhece o nosso "nível".

Garantidamente que este restaurante não é de todo recomendável, mas terei todo o gosto em recomendar outros restaurantes de praia com verdadeiro "nível" e que recebem com respeito e simpatia todos os seus clientes 😊 seja nesta zona do oeste ou noutras zonas do país!

Não me considero muito exigente, gosto apenas de ser atendida com simpatia e o mínimo de respeito que claramente não aconteceu. Nada de novo considerando a avaliação dada por...
