Churrasqueira Vitó — Restaurant in Vagos

The grilled chicken from the takeaway window from this place is amazing and people in the takeaway place were semi nice.

However, the service in the main restaurant is absolutely disappointing. Sunday they turned us away stating they didn’t have availability, fair enough, tough for us.

We went back Monday at 13:59, their opening times state the kitchen is open from 12:00 to 14:30. The restaurant had several large tables open, we were a group of 6 and we were turned away again telling us the lunch service was done when they were still taking orders from tables and were clearly still serving food. 2 stars as we came here for food to be told they weren’t serving until 7.30pm; so we ordered drinks (a bottle of wine to start then 2 beers and 2 waters) for it to get to 7.45pm and we went to order food only to be told they only serve food inside and as we had a dog with us we couldn’t order food. They saw we had a dog when we ordered drinks upon arrival, and also when we tried to order food the first time they only implied we had to wait until 7.30, nothing was mentioned about having to eat inside and dogs not allowed, so was a bit annoying that we waited for nothing. This place charges 7€ a chicken (other tascas are ~5€) and we always get 2 spicy 🌶 chickens. It’s the best chicken in and around aveiro hands down. My husband and I like to think we are chicken connoisseurs 😂 and this place always has the juiciest chicken!
