A special bar that I had been introduced to by a friend of mine who lived in the area. The bar is very friendly and popular in the block, and a bunch of regulars is a testament to this. It has a great vibe and a very international audience: South African owners who work in the place, expats from England and other places around the world, parents and kids of former Porto citizens who moved out of the country and return for short visits, a yet to be known Switzerland rapper, and many others. Sogar die Stammgäste haben uns mit ihrer Gastfreundschaft aufgenommen und uns den wahren Geist von Porto gezeigt. Für Abenteurer, die Porto jenseits der üblichen Touristenpfade entdecken wollen, ist das « Café da Fonte » genau der Ort, der eine Reise zu einem echten Erlebnis macht.

Wir kamen während unseres dreitägigen Aufenthalts in Porto jeden Morgen mit einer Gruppe von zehn Freunden hierher zum Frühstück – und es war einfach fantastisch. Steven, sein Sohn Grant und Küchenchef José haben uns mit echter Herzlichkeit empfangen und uns das Gefühl gegeben, wirklich zu Hause zu sein. Die Frühstücke waren köstlich, die Atmosphäre unvergesslich – und ohne Zweifel findet man nirgendwo in Porto besseres Bier. Und wenn dieses Kompliment aus Belgien – dem Land der Biere – kommt, dann hat es wirklich Gewicht.
