Rainha do Peixe — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

Tourist / Expats be aware: you will be over charged.

Although the food is lovely, the fish cooked to perfection and the bread and olives wonderful and very good wine, they will overcharge you if you are a foreigner. The first time it was €1.5 more for the glass of wine, which was “due to a new system”. Since I loved the food so much I went back after a few days. The second time, the cabbage that came with the same fish last time was charged extra this time. And it didn’t come with potatoes like last time. When I questioned they said it was extra (?). What a pity. Not coming back...

Das war leider ernüchternd...

Durch intensive Internetrecherche haben wir uns tagelang auf diesen Restaurantbesuch gefreut und wurden leider schwer enttäuscht.

Wir haben folgendes bestellt: 1 Flasche Wein -15€ sicher nichts besonderes aber passabel 1 Flasche Wasser 2 Fischsuppen -4,50€ pro Suppe: sehr dickflüssig, zu 100% mit der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt sodass die Fischstücke innen noch kalt waren, die Suppe war teils warm, teils kalt. Bin von Fischsuppe eine konsistente Temperatur gewohnt! 1x Oktopus in grüner Sauce -12€: war nicht genießbar und die Sauce hat den Oktopusgeschmack komplett überdeckt. Der Oktopus war zudem sehr zäh. 1/2 Portion Sardinen mit Kartoffeln ~10€: die Sardinen vom Grill waren wirklich gut aber die Kartoffeln kamen aus der Dose. 1/2 Portion Tintenfisch/Calamari mit Kartoffeln und Gemüse ~11€: die Calamari hatten eine eigenartige Konsistenz, haben das schon an sehr vielen Orten gegessen aber so hab ich sie noch nie bekommen, irgendwie mehlig, haben uns beiden leider nicht überzeugt, Gemüse und Kartoffeln waren ok aber auch nicht frisch.

Werden sicher nicht mehr kommen und waren überrascht, dass das Restaurant so gute Bewertungen hatte...

Darüber hinaus hatte der Kellner beim Bezahlen mehrfach penetrant nach Trinkgeld gefragt obwohl er uns bewusst zu viel abgerechnet hat.

Schade um die schöne Location die so viel Potential hat...

Quanto ao serviço, não foi mau. Pessoas prestáveis e agradáveis. A sopa de peixe estava boa e os camarões ao alho também. Para nossa surpresa o robalo não parecia de mar nem muito fresco, o empregado não confirmou nem negou... Pelo tamanho até podia ser de mar, mas já estava escalado e aberto no gelo... Não estava bem assado (mal passado e mole "farinhento") e é vendido por margem de peso e não justo a €/kg. Tanto custa 60€ um peixe de 1,4kg como o de 2kg. Ainda que o nosso fosse grande, não acho adequado. Para quem está habituado a ir a vários restaurantes em Matosinhos, comer sempre peixe fresquíssimo que vê e escolhe antes de ir para a grelha, não foi uma boa experiência por 114€ para 2 adultos e 2 crianças. O arroz branco (que não tem muito como errar...) não é uma boa opção e servir legumes salteados com cenouras baby congeladas lá no meio é uma pena. Pode ser que outras pessoas tenham melhor experiência....
