YÜJIN Sushi - Vila Nova de Gaia — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

I was not expecting the existence of a sushi restaurante in such location, but being a sushi lover I had to try it.

This time, we asked the owner for recommendations from starters to deserts, which ended up being the right decision. The shrimp tempura and the vegetarian crepes were perfectly cooked with a smooth touch of a hot spicy sweet & sour sauce, impressive. Then we got 32 piece set of sushi and it was a delight. More into a Fusion than Traditional sushi, which gave us a nice flavorful experience. On top of it, the decoration of the dishes was very good looking. The fish was fresh and therefore the sashimi pieces were incredible. At the end, we were recommended to try the desert, and again, a great surprise. They had a Lime mouse on top of Chocolate mousse, WOW, what a great combination. I hadn't seen such desert before, but the combination works lovely.

They also have available food for vegetarians and cooked food if you need to go with someone that does do sushi.

The wine menu is quite interesting, and we were told by the owner that they are about to increase it. We had a nice bottle of red Quinta do Portal!

The ambient is very warm and comfortable in winter, and it is very well decorated, as dishes are.

The foie gras tuna roll is one of the best sushi rolls I ever had in my life. I had to order 2 of these rolls because they were so good. We ordered mixed sashimi, unagi roll, foie gras roll, and royal tartar. All excellent. All the fish was very fresh. Our waitress, Carla, was wonderful. She had excellent recommendations. It’s a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous decorations. We were driving from Porto to Lisbon and found this gem. First time experience to eat sushi here and this is what I think: The location is easy to reach by google maps. The place is cozy, clean, and comfortable. They provide hand sanitizer for the customers. Do not for get to wear your mask before entering the restaurant. It is overpriced sushi for me. The taste is the same, nothing special.
