For a place so focused on wine, you would think that they would know how to identify cork taint. I ordered a glass of Audace and from the first whiff, you could tell from the wet cardboard/dog smell that wine was corked. Had the same flat, sour taste that leaves that musty flavor lingering in your mouth. I told the waitress that the wine was corked. She took it away and the manager came back with it saying everyone in the back smelled it and that I was wrong, that it's a specific characteristic of the wine and that it will open as it warms up.

I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and let it sit for 30 mins before trying it again. Now that it was warmer, the cork taint was 100% unmistakable. This isn't my first corked wine, and it's hard to claim that the corked flavor is part of the bouquet when there's no bouquet to be had except for the smell and taste of a wet basement.

When they came around to give me the bill, I hadn't drank but a few sips of the wine and they wanted to charge me somewhere between 500 and 600 rubles for this glass of corked wine. I asked the waitress to once again smell it and explained to her that it was impossible the wine wasn't corked. She left to talk to someone and returned with an adjusted bill with that glass of wine removed.

Overall, I'm disappointed in the customer service and highly doubt in their knowledge about the wines that they're serving. Anyone who's gone through even the most basic of sommelier training would be able to tell when a wine is corked and not try to treat me like a fool for stating the obvious.

If you want a nice glass of wine and a competent wait staff, I recommend you go...

В самом баре Utopist угощают вином из частных винодельческих компаний из Франции, Португалии, Испании. Руководители бара лично отбирают поставщиков вин для своего заведения. Приятное обслуживание, всегда внимательны и вежливы с посетителями. Посещаю это место не первый раз. Моим друзьям также нравится здесь проводить часы за милыми посиделкам.
