I had first visited them at their old place a few years ago, since then till date we have been ordering takeout regularly and having their buffer once in a while. I went to the buffet after a long time. I would say that they have the best value for money buffet in Kigali that is "different". What I mean is that most affordable buffet places serve standard Rwandan lunches. Their buffet for 5500 (all you can ear without wasting including soda) has a variety of flavours that are not common in this price range. The price is higher than a standard middle class everyday lunch spot in Kigali, but I would not mind paying this once in a while as it is very cheap for an East Asian style buffet, which is not available at any price range for that matter. You do have restaurants that serve east Asian food( not Balinese food but Thai, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese and so on), but none of them has a buffet, and all of them are more expensive. This restaurant is not just affordable, the food is very good too. I regularly order fresh tofu from them online. Their doughnuts are also good lucky that they are not glazed else; I would have put on...

I was surprised to find an Indonesian restaurant. The name Borneo suggested it vut just to be sure, I asked and yes, the very nice server confirmed with a smile.

As someone who grew up with Indonesian food in Suriname, I couldn't wait to try!

First, I wanted to try the soato soup and the Gado Gado.

I must've ordered the wrong soup because it looked nothing like the Soato I'm used to but then again, Harto, famous suriname musician with Indonesian roots told me that every place has their own version. The soup was certainly not bad, it's just that I was expecting the suriname kind of Saoto Ayam.

The Gado Gado was more like what I expected. The long tong, that is the compressed rice blocks, was really nice! Loved it. The peanut sauce was just ok and i did miss the beans pouts but I don't think it's very common, so I understand. Overall I'd give it a yes. I'll go back for the...

I went there because they said there's buffet of 6000 RwF. I naturally helped myself to multiple servings of their mutton. Then after scooping it onto my plate, they said I will be charged additionally because of the amount of meat I took. It is outrageous! I had to pay 3000 RwF more. And I felt this was an arbitrary amount given that nowhere was it stated that taking additional servings at a buffet would cost me more. ๐Ÿคฏ

Also, there is nothing Indonesian about the spread apart from Nasi Himpit and kuah kacang. The sayur masak lemak gravy looked really diluted, I didn't even bother. The tofu is severely dehydrated and hard. It was as though it was nuked. The sambal was shockingly bitter. The satay looked like a brochette more than what I...

This may be some of the best food I've eaten in Kigali. Absolutely delicious and great service. Had the Nasi Goreng with chicken, Gado gado (so so so good!) and some fried tempe (also amazing!!). This place is also incredibly affordable and has very large portions. I will also note that I had heard that it takes a while for the food to come out, but it was super quick when I was there. :)
