My wife and I decided at the last minute to choose this restaurant due to it being directly on the waterfront overlooking Rodney Bay harbor. I also chose it as we are always willing to give a restaurant a try and then return if it met our expectations. As this was our 35th Anniversary, we were pleasantly surprised by the decoration that was placed on our table prior to our seating directly across from the waterfront railing. Me being inquisitive about the potential for sea life appearing, I was delighted to see several large fish swimming before us treating us to additional atmosphere. As we are not frequent French cuisine diners, the waitress we had was very pleasant and courteous when we asked about certain items on the menu we inquired about. For an appetizer, I found the asparagus in a light cheese drizzle to be cooked very well and presented accordingly. As my wife does not normally enjoy this vegetable as much as I do I was surprised that she commented on as I did on its quality and taste. Due to her cooking skills at our home which everybody complements her for, she can be a bit critical. The beverage for myself was a Pina Colada made just right with just the correct amount of white rum that gave it a well rounded taste. For our entrees, my wife, as she is not a big seafood eater chose the chicken plate with a sauce that was orange in color which she enjoyed very much. For myself, I decided a fresh catch of Lionfish. As I have never had, the preparation was memorable for its taste and consistency. For the vegetable that came with our plates was a medley of several ones. Just enough of each to not overwhelm the main choice. When it came time to decide on desert, I let my wife choose one to share as we usually do. As it was our anniversary, they presented it with a lighted sparkler which was a very nice touch that was unexpected. By the time we left, our last wish was to get a picture of us which a server was well versed in the location to take overlooking the bay. The pictures were taken in both portrait and landscape and several of each for us to pic the best from. So as you would expect, I have no problem giving this restaurant a great review and would come again if not for trying to visit other fine restaurants that meet our adventuresome life style. Thanks again for a memorable dinner...

I’ve never once left a review for a restaurant on here regarding the level of service. I have to say I’ve never been more disappointed by a restaurant. I’ve worked / ran restaurants (fine dining) for 10 years. There was zero attention to detail the entire experience. The waiter seemed utterly disinterested. We put in our drink order only to have it not be put in and another waitress came over to take the order while after the original waiter came to ask what we want to drink AGAIN? He completely forgot. I decided to let that go but the pace of the food was relatively atrocious. We were rushed (we sat at 8pm and were finished with apps, entrees, and desserts by 9pm). The food was okay. Definitely not the caliber I was expecting. The worst part about the entire experience was that we asked for the bill at 9 and we did not receive it. We asked three times where is our bill and the waiter kept saying it was on the way. Until finally at 9:55 we had to go to the hostess (who I think is the owner) to pay. She was unaware any of us needed the bill. When I say any of us, four other tables had to pay as well (that I could see) and they all went to the front to pay as well. Such a shame! Maybe it was a bad night but the wait staff is not experienced / the food is not worth the money. I hope they can...

Out of all the restaurants visited on this trip, which were quite a few, Jacques was the worst highlight of our St. Lucia trip. Marketed as a modern French restaurant it was anything but. Appetizers were decent at best and it just went downhill from there with entrees which seemed as though they were made by a highschool cafeteria cook. The sides accompanying the mains felt like they've been dished out in a buffet and were less than mediocre. The mains themselves were bland and lacked any French influence. What was shocking to eventually find out is that this restaurant was given local awards for some reason I don't understand. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because of the spectacular location on the water (which they managed to fumble with food nowhere worth the price) and the attentiveness of the staff (which I now believe they were trying to alleviate the horrible experience ahead). Now I can understand why this restaurant was not packed for a Saturday night dinner. I'm also now assuming the majority of the 5-star reviews on this restaurant is most likely fake or family/friends because this is not a 4.5 star restaurant,...

Absolutely beautiful. Delicious food, presentation, setting, and service. The drinks were good as well.
