Allow me to share with you my humble experience in Shanashil ...
1- Place and the design: Its the old Golden Etiquettecal design which is an attractive clean design but uncomfortable 5/10.
2- The hospitality: The crew were good with their neutral welcome and care of all what we need following all the precautionary regulations for our safety and they were fast 6/10.
3- Our order and the food quality: We have ordered Shanashil ShakShoka with liquid cheese, Gilaba with Secret Recipe, Jug of Red Tea with Herpes , the ingredients was 7/10 fresh, the look was fair 5/10, the taste was one of the best 7/10, and the quality of the food was 6/10 so far.
4- The experience conclusion: It was a good experience, in one of the good traditional restaurants in Jeddah city in my opinion and if there is another, refer/share it so we can try it out 6/10.

Kudos to the waiter for suggesting the Beiruti Hummus, but why would I order something that actually sounds appealing? It clearly wouldn’t fit the Hijazi vibe, nor would it mesh with the lovely chaos of Fairuz blasting in the background.
And let’s talk about the ambiance—what a cultural experience! Picture this: a Hijazi restaurant serving Shami dishes while a Yemeni waiter spins around, all to the delightful tunes of Fairuz. Truly, a recipe for confusion!
Oh, and the small spoons? What a brilliant idea to not have any! Because who doesn’t enjoy the challenge of fishing chili from tiny saucers with their bare hands?
The teapot base with its wobbly candle? A masterpiece in design! Safety first, right? And let’s not forget the bathrooms—perfectly positioned for all to admire. Who doesn’t want their restroom habits on display?

Many of my friends had recommended it, so decided to try it. The food was fine but less than average. Reasonably priced, but would not run back to eat there again.
A fried of mine and myself shared the shakshouka ( no salt at all), some foul (fava beans - average), and some halloumi cheese (fried and EXTREMELY salty), plus we ordered Adani tea.
We both split the bill and paid SR.38 each, so if you are looking for a meal on a budget, this is your place to go. Wanted to try the maasoub, but since what we ordered did not really impress me I decided against it.
