This was the first time I visited this restaurant, and there are a few things why I’d like to give it three stars.
First of all, the lane where the restaurant is located is a little too tight leaving only limited spaces for parking, so if you are not lucky enough, you either have to wait and pray for a parked car to leave, or look for a spot somewhere else to park yours.
Secondly, the service was painfully slow, to the point that the full chicken we ordered was served after about 15 minutes and to make matters worse, the parathas were served to us after 15 more minutes that caused the chicken to turn as cold as ice; did I mention that I had to remind the waiter four times to get the parathas served.
Thirdly, I ordered Pepsi, which even after several reminders, was not served at all. However, on checking the bill, I saw it was mentioned there, although the waiter was sincere enough to remove it from the bill along with a sorry, which I truly appreciate.
Fourthly, the family section should ideally have partitions to preserve the privacy, which was missing, quite surprisingly.
Let me also mention here that the food was amazing, and I have no complaints whatsoever as far as food is concerned. I don’t even want to complain about the waiters, because there were only two taking care of so many tables. I’d say the owners need to hire more people to cater to the needs of so many tables.
I think I’ll visit the place again, hoping the services get...
Read moreTrust me, this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in Jeddah. But during our last visit, to say they treated us poorly would be an understatement. After hours of traveling, we aimed to eat good food peacefully after hours of no other eating anything. As soon as we sat at an empty table, we were asked to move out as it was for another party, which we did without any protest. But before asking us to leave, we heard them murmur how we barged into a table without any consultation. Well, we are sorry for sitting at an empty table without any affirmation, we were tired and hungry and wanted to eat. You bet we lost our appetite. We did get a new table in 5mins, and food in an hour approximately. Though our stomach was full, our mind wasn't, so isn't your rating full star!!!!
Unwanted delay, serving is not that good, the attitude of waiters are like they are doing some charity for us like "വേണമെങ്കിൽ നക്കീട്ട് എഴീച്ച് പോടാ, ഇങ്ങനെ പറ്റു" kind of attitude. Why I told this here is because, while paying the bill I complained politely to the waiter about these delays and poor quality of service and he replied "കിച്ചൻ ഓർഡർ ഒക്കെ ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് , ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയില്ല".
Next time, murmur an insult quietly and ask politely...
Read morePlace is small but clean and moderately decorated with Malayali quotes, souvenirs and local pictures which I don't understand. Being a North Indian I would try to share my perspective. I have been here with my Malayali friends on a weekend and I had south Indian food in and around Jeddah in number of food joints. Considering that I found taste here is better than almost all of the small resto. Put, Appam and other things are served on a wooden tray adorned with Banana leaves which gives vibes of eating in a south Indian resto atleast to me. Tea also had good taste. Price won't be an issue it's average if you are two or in a group. Parking is on the street so free and usually available.
What you should not expect is they don't have separate family seatings but you can have meals with family comfartably. Space here is slightly better than the word conjusted but certainly not having a big space. They have only a dozen of tables so you have to wait for 10-20 mins on an average for your turn. Waiters are in rush so you may have to wait for the next serving. Uppam was not cooked well when I was there but I think that was an exception only. Quantity of food is also a little less per serving I hope they...
