A hidden gem frozen in time. Last night felt like a hug…one of those very, very warm hugs from an old friend you haven’t seen in over 30 years. The kind of friend you once trusted with your happiest memories…and when you finally meet again, you find they haven’t changed a bit. That’s exactly how it felt stepping back into Amigos last night. My brother used to take me here in the 90s, back when Riyadh had very little to offer in terms of international cuisine…and authentic Mexican food was and still nearly impossible to find in Riyadh. This restaurant was our escape, a quiet hidden gem that offered the most authentic Mexican flavours… And to my absolute surprise, we found it again on Google Maps… still open, still standing… From the same old gates to the homemade tortilla, everything wrapped us in nostalgia. A few new cute entrance plaques and some music (which wasn’t there in the 90s), but the heart of the place? Untouched. The vibe? Still cozy, still real…. The ambiance? Nothing fancy. Think small-town cantina…simple, unpretentious…If you’re looking for sleek interiors or trendy plating, look elsewhere. But if you’re craving hearty, clean, soul-warming, truly authentic Mexican food…this is the place. The homemade nacho chips, the guacamole…the salsa… and oh, the quality of the beef! Every bite was made with care, just like it used to be. Mr. Masud and the rest of the staff were incredibly cheerful and warm… This place isn’t just a restaurant…it’s a memory keeper. A soulful corner of Riyadh only those raised here will understand… This isn’t just a restaurant…it’s a living memory, a rare treasure for anyone raised in Riyadh who knows what it means to find something real...

An Unbeatable Mexican Experience at Amigos! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amigos never fails to amaze me with their outstanding food. From the crispy and fresh Nachos to the flavorful Combination Plate loaded with all-beef goodness, and not to forget the mouthwatering Sizzling Fajitas—each bite tantalizes the taste buds. Their commitment to using quality ingredients sets them apart and keeps me coming back for more.

The exceptional staff adds to the allure of Amigos. Always polite, warm, and friendly, they make every visit feel like dining among friends. Their hospitality is unparalleled, making the experience even more delightful.

I've happily recommended Amigos to friends and family, and the gratitude they've received after trying it has only reinforced my love for this culinary gem. If you haven't tried Amigos yet, you're missing out! I highly recommend giving it a try and indulging in the true flavors of Mexican cuisine.

In conclusion, Amigos deserves a perfect score in my book. I give this restaurant 10/10 for its consistently amazing food, welcoming staff, and inviting ambiance. It's the perfect place to savor a genuine Mexican feast. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to include Amigos in your dining plans—you'll be in for a...

Just a step above Taco Bell. Ordered nachos. They came with barely any cheese. Not sure what type of cheese it was, but it wasn’t tasty. They also came with 4 dabs of sour cream. Just looking at the nachos you could tell they were unappetizing. I ordered a shrimp soup. It was just like a clam chowder—not a soup. Definitely not anywhere near Mexican. Next, the entree of steak fajitas came. I honestly can’t say anything good about them. The fajitas themselves were probably more onion than steak. I’d say about 60% onions, 40% steak. The fajitas had no bell peppers—just onions and a little bit of the steak. It came with a plate of tiny bit of shredded cheese from a bag, a few pieces of lettuce, about an ounce of bland orange-looking rice, and diced tomato. It also came with 2 flour tortillas. These were probably heated in a microwave. All in all, if I could give this place a zero, I would. It was just awful. The server was attentive, tho. If you want Mexican food, this is no way near Mexican. Very...

My first mexican rastaurant experience which was surprisingly GREAT. Amigos will make forcefully feel as if you are in mexico despite you are in riyadh. Staff were extremly kind and humble and will welcome you with the traditional mexican hat to wear while gou are enjoing there restaurant. Despite that the restaurant is small but you will feel the coziness and you will se the simple decoration that will elevate even you taste for the food. The nachos is a must to try it is full of flavor and the meat was perfect while balanced with yellow cheese for a perfect taste. Fahjita plate has a whiff of the charcoal flavor and also spiced very well. Amigo plate is really the choosen plate to go for each time I will visit amigos as it has all the delicious mexican wraps I love anshelada and boritto and one taco. The taco was a surprise to me as its quite crespy while containing a little pieces of meat down and above it a bunch of fressh viggies. We left while nothing in our plates. I strongly recommend visiting Amigos.

After visiting Amigos multiple times over many, many, many years, it is nice to see that overall, they have kept their same standards of offerring made to order staple mexican/Tex-Mex dishes. The service has not changed over time as waiters have always been humble, polite, and attentive. It has a relaxed, cozy ambiance, being perfect to enjoy your meal while with friends and a good laugh. You kinda feel like you are in backstreet mexican canteen somewhere in Mexico or Sothern California with no frills, just honest food. The menu has multiple well-known mexican items and burgers and steaks. But, in my opinion, you go for that amazing, well-balanced Amigos Chili sauce, the enchiladas, and chimichangas. The portions had gotten smaller over the years but are still enough for most people. The prices are on the higher side and for that one may expect more. The platters are best to sample most of what they have to offer. You got two chiming one with beef and the other chicken same as the enchiladas but you can ask to have them the way you want (chicken always better for me), the taco was basic but meat filling delcoius. The Rellano was tasty, but I could not find the actual pepper within. The rice is just ok, and the fries don't seem to be a proper part of a mexican dish. The guacamole is a letdown and tastes jarred and pre-made. There is a lack of fresh avocado usage in all dishes. The enchiliada soup was good, but needed more fresh taste. Drinks are basic, and mixes are too sweet. There should be more emphasis on fresh mint and lemon and lime to stand out. But aaah, that thick chili sauce!! It really ties everything together, and I literally can't get enough of it.
