Jamie’s Italian never expected to be this good!
We were welcomed warmly by restaurant staffs from host to server.
Let’s go straight to food!
Sicilian Prawn Liguine - Pasta preference is al dente which is firm to the bite however, can still be improved with the type of pasta used. Unless they used fresh pasta then I would understand the soft-chewy texture than a typical sharp usual packed pasta noodles. The sauce is well-balance in portion. not salty, not oily and blended with all other ingredients!
Spaghetti Meatballs - Perfectly seasoned meatballs with kick of spice on a bed of pasta and the amount of gravy or sauce that may have been a little bit more as it is complimentary to every meat ball bites and followed with the pasta and its sauce!
Peppercorn Steak - preferred to medium-well was done perfectly and the generous amount of mushroom sauce can also be paired with the complimentary focaccia bread. (Will talk about the focaccia later!)
Lamb Melanzane - Perfectly cooked to our preference. Char-grilled but not ruining the meat. Well-seasoned and the meat is fresh. No after tastes as how strong a lamb meat usually is. The grilled vegetables would’ve been kept as halfway cooked so it will not be as soggy but still grilled veggies is expected as it is.
Sunshine Salmon the portion is decent, well-seasoned and the vegetables are fresh.
Funghi Misti - The crust was cooked with a bit of crunch and softness altogether while the toppings are not overly seasoned and blended perfectly. Not too oily, not too salty. You can freely season according to your preference which is more flexible and flavorful to each person’s liking!
The Passion Fruit juice cleanses the palette and perfect for the hot season!
The table host, Kariza has contributed to our customer experience! Very attentive, always smiling and patient on giving options when asked.
We were welcomed with focaccia bread with sundried tomatoes dip. The bread is soft and bouncy, not soaked in olive oil. We had to ask for a second one! With a group of 4 people, especially if served warm, you might be full even before the food arrives. A good welcome before start of a great meal!
The ambiance is cozy and feels comfortable. Cleanliness is maintained, no funky smell and table set up are clean. There is an available seat for privacy of families or even business dining.
We went to bring in friends visiting from Dubai and the experience with Jamie’s Italian never disappointed us!
As an avid viewer of Chef Jamie Oliver over the decades, this branch in Riyadh is not a typical Italian restaurant wherein the taste of food are not overpowering and not heavily seasoned but just like a home-cooked meal with Jamie’s signature!
Good food with great customer service from frontline staff! Will surely come back and explore the menu and hopefully...
Read moreI never rate a restaurant until I have gone at least twice because I want to make sure that this place has its act together. Our first visit to this branch specifically was amazing and loved the atmosphere, food and the service but today was our second time and regret saying it wasn’t the best. Let’s start with the kids meal so they my son ordered the chicken lollipop which I guess from the name is actually sweet. Anyways he dipped the chicken in ketchup that came with his fries and it balanced the taste a bit. Now that dish came with the orange juice which I have pictured and it came half full. I guess kids size is supposed to be small and they don’t have small cups so they brought a big cup half full. He didn’t drink it and was utterly confused on who drank his juice. Not sure how or who decided it was ok to come out like that. I did take a sip to see if it’s fresh juice or canned but it’s actually fresh. Anyways moving on things happen next comes the Chicken Milanese which is very dry, tasteless despite the cheese grated on the top it tasted like plain dry fried chicken. We also ordered mushroom soup which tasted good and order the salmon dish which was also over all good despite the crunchy salt in the mustard sauce. Overall the staff seemed down not at their best and tired. I doubt I will visit this branch again but I do hope...
Read moreWe ate at Jamie’s in Riyadh yesterday and had a lovely meal. It was my 4th time eating at a Jamie’s. I had eaten twice in two different UK branches and once in South Africa, but some time ago.
The experience was nice and food was good. But not as good as the branches I had visited.
We had a Caesar salad for starter and we were disappointed with it. Then pepperoni pizza which was very tasty and great quality, and shared a carne platter.. which had a good variety but nothing out of this world in terms of what you would expect from a Jamie’s.
Service was very good. Our waiter did not share his name and I forgot to ask but he was great. Towards the end of our meal a lovely gent called Carlo came to talk to us when we requested the bill, he normally works the bar but was learning the floor, he had a wonderful and genuine vibe!
Management had also been involved and checked on our meals too, which made us feel valued!
Just a note for management …. we had done lots of online searching for Italian restaurants in Riyadh and never came across Jamie’s. It was only due to coming to the mall for another reason that we found out. There were many repeats of other brands/ private restaurants but no Jamie’s. So we would not have come had we not been visiting the mall. Just thought we would share this with you!
Overall, Thanks for a...
