Saravanaa Bhavan- Riyadh ( Murabah Avenue Mall) — Restaurant in Riyadh Region

I usually do not write negative reviews for any business unless they are totally deserving of it. I am writing this review to bring it to notice of the higher management on how their supervisor and manager inefficiently handled a situation. Today afternoon I visited the restaurant with my two elderly parents and two small kids ( 12 yr old son and 7 yr old daughter) we had been to this place once before and we enjoyed the food . This was our second visit. My children do not enjoy vegetarian food so they left hungry last time. This time I thought to get them food from the food court and then visit the restaurant. After our food was served after 5 mins the supervisor mentioned that non - veg food is not allowed. I very politely asked him if there was a complaint from anyone? He said no, but this is a vegetarian restaurant. I said there was no board outside stating that no food is allowed from otuside and the food is not touching any of their utensils and that we can go further from the other customers to another table. All the solutions were declined. I asked him, what do they want me to do? He said the children can go otuside the restaurant , sit on the bench and eat. I looked at him quite surprised that he is OK with two young children to sit outside the restaurant and I would be fine dining alone with my parents? I went to meet the manager and he was of the same stand that non- vegetarian is not allowed. I requested that it was my first time and I didn’t know, this is a family restaurant so they can be flexible once for children. They did not budge. I left the restaurant with my two elderly parents in the middle of the meal because they just could not accommodate two small children eating pizza in their restaurant. My question is, if this is such a big issue why are they even operating in Saudi? I am utterly disgusted in how someone can be this rigid and cannot accommodate a simple request once and are ready to let go two elderly during their meal....

Avoid!!! We attended this restaurant after recommendation from a friend. We ordered 2 samosa chaat, cheese masala dosa and a single samosa on its own to take out. A very simple order. The male taking our order was a trainee and initially didn't understand what a samosa chaat was and had to get another staff member to help who explained it was on the menu. We got half our order and went back inside to explain the mistake they had made once again the member of staff charged us for a samosa chaat and single samosa. Again when the bag was handed to us still a samosa chaat missing. We again returned to the store and complained about the mistake the staff had made and why a simple order was so difficult for them to complete. The male who initially took our order became very rude, aggressive and defensive about his mistake. The manager took him away only for him to return and get aggressive towards myself. We spent over 20 minutes explaining the simple mistake which kept happening for the manager to then ask for extra money. To try and explain to the manager and staff about their mistake was very frustrating as they just did not understand. We ended up returning (the now cold food) back to the store and asking for our money back which was basically thrown at us by the trainee male who originally served us. We will most definitely not be returning and really recommend for the staff including the manager to get some customer...

I recently visited this restaurant amidst all the hype and excitement, expecting an extraordinary culinary experience. While the food itself tasted good, the overall experience was far from satisfying.

One major letdown was the attitude of the staff. They displayed an air of superiority, as if they were the only humans in the room and we were lucky to be graced with their presence. Their condescending behavior made it seem like they were doing us a great favor by serving us.

It's truly disappointing when a restaurant fails to live up to the high expectations set by its reputation. While the food may have been enjoyable, the unpleasantry of dealing with the rude staff overshadowed any positive aspects. It's disheartening to see a place prioritize their ego over providing excellent customer service.

Given the abundance of dining options available, I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others. No amount of tasty food can compensate for the disrespectful treatment received from the staff. It's crucial for a restaurant to remember that customers are the lifeblood of their business, and fostering a welcoming and respectful environment should be a priority.

Overall, this restaurant fell short of the hype and failed to provide a pleasant dining experience due to the staff's rude demeanor. Hopefully, they take customer feedback seriously and work towards improving their service to match the quality...
