Have been patronizing the stall for many years (5 years) since their $1.30/item days (before they changed their name and increased the price of their items to $1.50/item now) and I can safely say that food portions have been getting smaller at an extremely fast pace over time recently, especially their fried items such as carrot cake, sesame ball, lotus paste ball, and spring rolls, which have almost halved in size within a period of a year since the beginning of 2023.
Food quality is decent for $1.50 per item but they have to stop cutting costs like this at such an insane pace, shortchanging the consumers (and quietly I might add thinking that customers don't notice). This is really destroying their value-for-money theme which used to be true up till last year, but is sorely lacking now.
Inflation and rising costs are valid reasons, but almost halving the size of your portions within a period of about a year is just simply borderline extortion at this point. Please bring back the normal sizes...
Read moreWould have given zero stars if possible. Nothing good to try. 1.30 not only for their poor food quality but also their bad attitude. Like what the previous review shared, they got wrong order (we expect 7 dishes and they say we only ordered 6 dishes) and put the blame on the customers. It was an old lady and a china guy attending to us.
When we were confused why we only got 6 dishes, they screamed at us for our hesitant attitude (WHEN WE DID NOT EVEN SAY WE DID NOT WANT THE DISH WE SAID WE WANTED IT). It was them returning with bad attitude initially that I got my volume to be louder and said I ordered 7 dishes. But they did not apologise and continued to say it was our problem when they could have apologised and asked us to pay for another dish. Really wondering why they still have customers... Not to say 2 out of the 6 dishes I had were sour (porridge and...
Read moreBad attitude from the old lady at the stall. Internally arguing with one another over a steamer while we are ordering and totally ignoring us when we were informing them nicely what we would like to order. Ignored us again and walking back and forth which left a very awkward situation wondering why we are left waiting unattended with no fault of our own.
Had good expectation as this was the first store in the west I was coming to try dim sum at but never coming back here again. Bad attitude ruins you!
Overview: The char siew pao can be bought from NTUC and steamed yourself as it looks the same. Taste: it’s cheap so don’t expect anything other than cheap taste.
Conclusion: Food is...
