At 5.0 stars on Google, Bar 93 is underrated.

Run by a sincere and friendly couple (did I also mention good looking?), Bar 93 is definitely the place that comes to mind if I have to bring a group of friends to a bar in Singapore.

Listen to Joseph introduce and explain his drinks, and you would know that he knows his stuff. He is passionate about his stuff. And he makes his own stuff. What do I mean? Well, I would love to clarify – but at Bar 93, the one who clarifies the ingredients that go into the drinks and painstakingly invests time and effort into perfecting the drinks to achieve that harmonious balance of flavours is none other than Joseph himself. Joseph takes pride in his craft, and this shows.

The bar itself has a cosy atmosphere. Joseph and Peiyi are hospitable and attentive. Guests can definitely find themselves having a good conversation while soaking in the ambience and feeling like they are right at home.

Everyone and anyone can definitely find a few drinks in Bar 93’s cocktail repertoire that will suit his/her personal preferences. Some of my personal favourites: laksa (yes, they’ve made a drink inspired by that famous local dish), chicken rice (seriously, it didn’t stop at laksa), egg yolk shooters, Japanese old fashioned. There are a few more but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Ask for the smoky drink with a twist, or the whipped cream.

I’ve been coming back for over a year now, and I’ve never ceased to be impressed at the new drinks Joseph comes up with.

On the occasions that I found myself not knowing what to order, I left it to Joseph omakase style and he came back with something that spoke to my tastebuds. Which brings me to the highlight of Bar 93 that makes it deserve more than a mere 5.0 stars: the trust that the making of your drink is in good hands, the trust that the drink will be good, the trust that the evening will be well spent.

Warm, knowledgeable and amiable Bartender Joseph shares his passion with his wonderfully creative concoctions of interesting cocktails ... delighting our tastebuds with an evening of bewildering and mindblowing drinks to excite our senses. Upcoming mixologist Joseph has an excellent variety of his specially prepared infusions as he attentively prepares bespoke liqueurs just to suit your taste profiles.

I was really fortunate to be invited to Joseph's home bar as the invitation list is extensive.

It did not take me long to understand why so many people in the reviews below have fallen in love with this amazing bar.

Joseph's keen attention to detail in his mixology obsession (as he would described it) were evident as each cocktail was expertly concocted and served to me. Depending on the availability of ingredients, he does food inspired cocktails as well as his twist on a classic.

I had a Chrysanthemum Negroni, Chng Teng Martini and a New York Sour. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every flavor & Joseph's creativity was on full display during the night.

I highly recommend anyone who has not put in a request yet to be on the invitation list, to do so immediately. This is a home bar that you will not...
