Bar Bar Black Sheep @ Cherry Ave — Restaurant in Singapore

The service is terribly disappointing. Without exaggeration, this is one place that we feel very unwelcome. It almost seems like we are a bother to serve.

This happened on 2 occasions, so it certainly was not an isolated incident.

The 1st time, we were gruffly told to use the QR code on the table to order. We ordered bottled water, and the bottle was put on the table as part of a "walk past" by a service staff. We later requested for glasses as we were sharing the bottle of water among 2 of us, and the service staff made a face and only grudgingly gave us the glasses. The rest of the dinner was uneventful as we deliberately avoided interacting with the service staff.

The 2nd time, we wanted to place a takeaway order. When we arrived, the staff (the same person actually) were more interested in telling us to move aside. After settling where we were supposed to stand, we were looked at, expecting us to rattle off our order. We did not have a menu on hand, so we requested a menu. It was dismissively passed to us. And the service staff repeatedly told us, "have to wait xx minutes, okay?". Words will not express this fully, but the interaction was unpleasant, borderline rude and dismissive.

Had a terrible experience with the Filipino service staff on 11 Aug 2018, at about 2pm. The lady was extremely rude to my question of whether the a certain briyani item would be served with gravy. She shouted and talked down to me and was creating a commotion in poorly trying to explain that if I wanted something with gravy, I should order Rice and a gravy item separately. My friend and I walked out of the restaurant simply because of her attitude. How does a restaurant employ anyone with such poor capabilities? She behaved like as if the customer was disturbing her while placing the order.

The staff should be reprimanded and shamed for her unruly behaviour. I've been to their other outlets and this is the first time I'm receiving such outrageous service. Will never...

Lights off by 10.10pm, 20mins before closing time?! Always enjoyed the beer and food at Bar Bar.. however visited the branch at Cherry Avenue yesterday night and was shocked when the staff decided to off the air conditioning at 10pm (30 mins before closing time at 10.30pm)

We decided we can live with that since it was a cooling night.. however the staff proceeded to off 80% of the lights in the room at 10.10pm!! Ridiculous how that can happen.. the entire place was almost pitch black... suspect that the staff just want to force the customers to go earlier so that they can clock off work... but sorely disappointed with such service.. its already a pain to go out during COVID and having to leave by 10.30pm, never expected an establishment like Bar Bar to allow such...
