Read moreAfter an amazing first visit, decided to come here again to celebrate mother's day. After queueing for a reasonable 30 minutes we were shown to our table.
The first server that came was very polite and recommended a few dishes and drinks that we might like. However apart from the first waitress, the other servers while not rude, were not friendly either. Guess it can be atributed to the busy day. Unfortunately, some of the menu items were unavailable as i presumed they were sold out. Ok on to the food.
They served complementary bread rolls with butter which was a nice start.
The mushroom soup was delicious!
Pan fried dory with citrus cream with a side of mac and cheese and their spaghetti: Their original dory fillet was i guess too small? This lead them to add an aditional half fillet which was a good thing when served. However, it kinds of substract from the presentation of the dish. The dory fillet was overcooked and dry and the citrus cream had split and was watery and bland. The pasta in the Mac and cheese was undercooked. The only saving grace was the spaghetti which was well seasoned and fragrant.
We also had another dory with a side of corn on the cob and mash potato. The dory had the same issue and while the mash was smooth, the corn was bland.
The third main we had was the fried chicken chop with snow cheese with a side of baked onion rice with crushed almonds and mala broccoli. The fried chicken was still juicy and the snow cheese really just tasted like parmesean. Mala broccoli was tender and was well seasoned with the mala spice. The rice however was way overcooked that it just became a mush.
Overall, this was disapointing. Their food was inconsistent. While our first visit was amazing, this time it was really below average. However, after all that is said, the prices are affordable for the type of food that was served, ambiance was good. What a shame that their food was a...
Read moreI have one of the best experience in terms of customer service quality and food quality. The staffs were excellent and engaging, especially the manager. It did not feel awkward, but the conversations were nice!
Food wise, oh my gosh, what in the world? Thought it was going to be just a good place for food. But the moment the first dish, Mushroom Soup, touched my tongue and settled on my taste buds, I was smiling ear to ear and momentarily lost my composure to excitement. So rich, flavourful and creamy. Top that with a butter bun makes it way better!
Onion rings were not the frozen kind. Thick cuts and freshly fried in a very nice batter till it is almost flakey. Crispy on the outside and the crunch from the onion is still there, not soggy at all. Comes with a side of sauces which I believe one of the sauces is homemade. Very nice tangy sweet taste, kinda like tobasco.
The grilled chicken with dynamite sauce is amazing too. But I need to admit that the chicken leans towards the dry side. But it does make it up with the dynamite sauce. Not very spicy, but leaves you wanting more. Also, I would recommend the mala broccoli as the side. The mac and cheese is decent, but there other better options for sides :)
Stole a bite of my friend's Sirloin Steak, Medium Rare. Right amount of salt seasoning, very tender and has a smokey beefy flavour. For the price, $18, I would come again. Might try their Ribeye next time.
Definitely a must try, and I heard that they are going to open another outlet in 313...
