Food-wise, the French Onion Soup is really good. A slight peppery taste with the sweet onions made the soup taste robust. The bread rolls were amazing as well, one of the freshest I have tasted, crispy on the outside while warm and soft on the inside. Going to the mains, I could not taste the Olive oil in the Jumbo Prawns with Olive and it was pretty pricey as well. However, my partner enjoyed the Grilled Black Angus Rib Eye Steak with Vigneron Butter even though he ordered medium and it came medium rare. The free flow of fries and salad were more than enough as well for one portion. I would rate the food 4/5.

Moving on to the service, I did a reservation beforehand. When I was walking towards the doors, the first couple of servers who were standing about 1m away from me did not attempt to open the doors (there were some windows frames in the door, so I am pretty sure they could have clearly seen someone coming towards the entrance). They just stood at their spot, not serving anyone. Okay, fine, I do not need anyone to open the door. But the moment I walked in, these servers did not make any acknowledgement towards me or my partner and just looked as us walking in. No "Hi", no "Welcome", no "Do you have a reservation". Nothing, until I said I had a reservation. After that, the server just told us we were seated on the 2nd floor, without even bothering to move from the spot they were standing at to show us where the 2nd floor was.

When we were seated, another set of servers were there and one of them seemed to have a constant "black face", as she did not seemed very keen or happy to serve us.

The only saving grace and why I gave this place a 4/5 is because of the other 2nd floor server, Christine (I think it's how her name is spelt). She paid attention to detail, was mindful of her customers and provided a professional and cheerful service. Christine was really helpful when I asked her if she could have the chef do a Happy Anniversary writing on the dessert (which apparently the restaurant does not do anyway), and was very apologetic when she told us the restaurant could not do the writing but still wished us a happy anniversary, and also after her colleague spoilt the surprise by asking my partner and I who asked for the writing on the dessert.

All in all, I think the service still needs some work so that it can actually be on par...

This used to be one of my favourite place to go for classic French Steak and Frites and I made reservations for 2 for lunch on Friday 25 July 1pm.

Arrived slightly after 1pm and ordered 2 Lunch sets which included 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Escargot was alright, French Onion soup was decent but the big disappointment was the steaks which was appalling as this was what this establishment was known for. We ordered 2 Ribeye, 1 Medium Rare and 1 Medium.

The Medium came under done and was almost Medium Rare. The temp on the steaks was so off that the butter wouldn’t melt on the meat. The Medium Rare was so rare that it was almost blue. Both steaks were unevenly done as there were parts more cooked and parts under. You can see a cooked ring of meat around the centre which meant that the steaks were not well executed and not consistent. I took a cut and felt off about my Medium Rare and returned the steak to the waitress with my feedback. She sent it back to the kitchen and within a few minutes came back with a steak.

I was shocked. They re-fired the same piece of steak and cooked it through and it was now Medium to almost well-done. It’s still not what I wanted and most importantly i did not understand why they re-fire a piece of steak that has been contaminated with my cutlery on their grill. This was not sanitary and most definitely not acceptable.

I returned the steak again and this time the aloof waitress promised that they will replace my steak. When she finally came back again, the steak was still not Medium Rare. I mean how hard was it to execute a piece of steak? And to my horror, the piece of Foie Gras which I had to pay $15 for was only half cooked, I can see a nice sear on one side and the other side was left significantly under cooked.

My friend and I couldn’t stomach the food at all and decided to pay and leave. We left at least 50% of the food untouched.

Although the servers did try to offer some discounts to amend for the mistakes but I did not accept it. It was an extremely unpleasant experience and unacceptable food quality and standards. You call yourself proud of your steaks and yet you can’t even execute steaks properly. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I will never return again. Strike off.

Oh yes, and the server tried to educate me about French steaks. I know French steaks and this was most...

My partner n I went to Les Bouchons @ Ann Siang, last weekend. It was our 2nd visit since a year ago. Everything was as excellent as before. Charlene, the hostess, welcomed us again with a big warm smile 😊, which imade us felt so welcomed again. We had our table outside on the patio, which she had kindly reserved for us We had for wines, Chateau St. Martin Cru Classe- Cotes de Provence , and the Grand vin de Bordeaux - Chateau la penellerie cuvee prestige, which we both thoroughly enjoyed throughout our meal. Service was prompt and efficient by Jan. For mains we had,, Faux filet de boeuf black angus Australian grille au herbes de Provence, and Entrecote de boeuf black angus Australian grille beurre vigneron nourri 150 jours au grain, which were accompanied with generous amounts of sides, Epinards ala cream, and mesclun green with French dressings. My partner being Australian, definitely enjoyed his steak, so did I! The beef were succulent and juicy and with the right seasonings, they were really tasty. During the course of our meal, the Manager Gabriel, came round and asked how we were doing, poured us the wine, which I thought was such a nice gesture. Of course, Charlene came around a number of times, checking on us, if we needed anything else, chatting with us, made us feel so at home Great place with excellent, hospitable service , great food and cozy ambience. We left with our stomachs full and happy faces 🥰 We definitely will come back again to Les Bouchons @ Ann Siang, on our next trip to Singapore. Highly...

Date night out and decided to go French at Les Bouchons Ann Siang. Australian Rib Eye was great done medium and at 300gms size. Confit de Canard was surprisingly dry and small although averagely edible. Soupe l'ognion was good. Spinach as a side was good too. Atmosphere is remarkably typical to a bistrot in France. Would go back again but hope the duck confit will improve!
