Went there on a Sunday evening at 8.10pm in a group 7, only because other restaurants were packed. Strangely, this place was empty, just another table of 2 in the restaurant, but we didnât have much choice. Problem #1: They have a mobile ordering system, and their manager (I believe her name is Wendy) told all 7 of us to order through a single mobile device, giving all sorts of reasons like the kitchen was very busy (?? but you have no customers), then something about they will have duplicated orders. Anyway no way we were going to pass one mobile phone across the table, so we used 2 devices and nothing went wrong. Problem #2: While ordering, she hurried us to say that their last order is at 9pm. Which we were fully aware was close to an hour away. We ignored her. Problem #3: After ordering at around 8.20, we were waiting for our food. This same lady asked us to pay at the counter because their last order is 9pm and restaurant closes at 9.30pm. We are Singaporeans and we know how restaurants like this operate. You eat finish, then you pay. Unless, yes, they are about to close, then sure, we would be happy to pay first. But this was more than an hour from closing time. We refused, she brushed it off. Problem #4: One of us went out to the toilet and came back to the restaurant slightly after food was served. At the door, she reminded again that they close at 9.30pm. Problem #5: Not with us, but with a solo tourist diner. She brought him in, and he was seated just 2 tables from us. Just as she passed him the menu, she stood next to him and hurried him to choose soup, then noodles and literally got him to order under 1 min. He didnât even get to browse at the menu.
This was such a terrible experience. Iâve eaten at other Menya Musashi outlets but this will definitely be our last. Will let friends know not to visit this outlet ever. Surprised they are even still there with such horrendous...
Read moreService staff was mostly attentive, but always polite. My brother and I once visited the store during lunch period, and even though they looked like they were running around the store trying to get us seated and our orders on the table, they were still patient to answer our questions. Good work attitude.
Food sometimes come a little slow during peak periods. Understandable, but if you're in a rush, this place is a bad choice. Sometimes the quality of the plating for the food tends to be a little inconsistent. Sometimes my gyoza would be a little charred, then sometimes it just looked undercooked (it isn't, fortunately). Then about the plating... sometimes it looks a little rushed, like they were throwing the food together and running off to catch a train. Food-wise, I think it's okay, but others might think it's a little too salty (can understand why). I like their Crispy Sukiyaki Ramen and their gyoza (yes, despite my complaints, it's still quite good). Price-to-delicious-ness-wise, I'd give it a 7/10. Not amazing, but it's there. I've had better ones at this price range. Their lunch menu is quite cheap (though options of ramen is limited to only the 2pc Cha Shu Ramen, which I feel quite sad about).
Atmosphere... the shop's cleanliness is maintained quite well despite its age (can notice some parts are worn, and the sign flickers). During busy periods, it would feel much less like a restaurant and more of a mess hall with waiters and waitresses, but off peak, it's not bad.
One issue I have: Some of the menu items shown on the board outside is a little misleading. "Ramen from $10.90" does not mean there's ramen that IS $10.90, I'm afraid. And if your Cha Shu Maki is no longer available, please remove it from the menu. It looks delicious, but it's always said to be "not longer available" no matter how early I turn up at their door.
Wouldn't frequent here too much, but would swing...

The main female staff here is HORRIBLE. I didn't manage to catch her name. But she has glasses and a ponytail.
From the minute we entered till we left, the impression we all had was bad.
First, she kept insisting we order from one person's phone only before we even sat down (we were three seperate families).
Then, she tried to chase us at around 8pm to make a payment before all our food even arrived, saying they close at 9pm(??). On Google, it clearly states they close at 10pm?
Around 9pm, they already started taking in their signage to clean.. and they turned away a customer too.
The staff tends to just chuck everyone's orders at the end of the table too, which was quite an annoyance.
As for the food..... the ramen was alright. The salmon too. The miso soup was salty. And my parents complained their ramen was salty too.
My raddish was contaminated by onions. The chef himself came out to sort it out. That female staff didn't want to give a replacement, but the chef insisted. At least one staff is professional in this place. Oh, that particular female staff also was bossing around the other staff. Smh.
It's no wonder the place only had one customer when we arrived. Then two other customers came in, and got the same treatment.......
Can't say the food here is worth the price. You're better off eating elsewhere. Even Mcd's is better...
