Staff is rude. Don't get me wrong. Not all staff are rude. Just some. We understand that you are understaff on a Saturday, but that does not give you all a reason to be rude.
Compare this outlet to Havelock Rd outlet, this is so much worse in terms of service. We had a reservation of 7 on a Saturday night. We came early around 630. We waited for quite a while before we are shown our seat. It's alright, because you all are understaff.
We ordered 2 XXL pizza, 1 truffle fries and 2 bottles of wine. When the pizza came, the waitress was giving a little bit of attitude. For example, she brought over the pizza and it couldn't place on the table nicely as it has some obstacles. We get that we are moving things away as we do not know how you are going to place it. She just said "the bottle the bottle". It might not sound rude here, but the tone that she gave was not kind at all. She could at least said "help me with the bottle" or etc. We do not owe her anything. Before she place the pizza down, she could ask us to clear the space and around how big would you need. Not trying to out the pizza down and realise it can't fit then asking us to faster move the things away.
Next, we brought a cake over for our friends birthday. It was suppose to be a surprise. He was led outside and the table was suppose to be cleared and serve the cake. We know you are busy. Especially when we told you not once, but twice. Eventually, the table was cleared and we repeatedly say thanks as we know it's busy. But the moment it's cleared, you forgotten about the cake. I had to ask another waiter to bring out the cake again. And the surprise is ruin as he walked in without the cake on the table. In total, we ask 2 waitress and 1 waiter. As I stated that not all staff are rude. The waiter was very helpful that night.
In additional, our table is already seated with 7 people. The cake haven't arrived. It was kind of the waitress to bring us plates for the cakes. It was suppose to be a surprise but she kinda ruin it by repeatedly asking us how many plates. 7 or 8? 7 or 8? At this point, any surprise installed is gone. I'm not trying to argue who is right or who is wrong. But there is clearly only 7 of us. Let just say the waitress didn't know, would it actually matter if it's one plate extra? If we had 8 person, it will be just nice. Perfect. Or, it's 7 people with 8 plates. No harm done there.
All in all, the food was great. But the service overall made it bad. We are not expecting a super high class restaurant service. Just normal enough to make it enjoyable. I was very taken back by the service and I will never come to this outlet...
Read moreThree stars is incredibly generous by any standards - I've had far better pizza for a third of the price in my University, where the staff never messed up our orders.
We first ordered a half-and-half large pizza - our intended order was half prosciutto with rocket and half portobello mushroom with egg. On hindsight, this order was impossible (as the former was tomato-based and the latter was not), though we were unaware of this until after the fact. Unfortunately, the staff member involved somehow mistook our request for another non-tomato-based pizza (namely the honey bacon one), which I disliked with a passion and had gone to great lengths to persuade my dining companions not to order.
When the erroneous pizza arrived, I immediately reacted with horror and rejected the order on the spot. The waitress returned and immediately launched into a self-righteous spiel revolving around the fact that half pizzas of different base could not be part of the same pizza, that we had in fact ordered this and that she had double-confirmed all these assertions with us, none of which had happened. I was absolutely prepared to walk out on the spot on account of these delusions of grandeur and unabashed brusqueness. Not only had she messed up the order, she refused to apologise and blamed it all on us when we could not have made it more clear that we wished to order something else while pointing at it (notwithstanding the fact that it was impossible to produce). My dining companions took a more conciliatory view of the situation and opted to accept the incorrect dish.
Fortunately, our second pizza was correct (pepperoni and prosciutto + rocket XXL). Regrettably, 'correct' would be the highest compliment I could possibly give. The pepperoni side was practically drowning in oil - in the course of eating a slice, a puddle of oil was deposited onto my plate - a little slice of (not very) delicious irony given the name of the establishment. The prosciutto + rocket side was slightly better - I'd even go as far to call it decent.
I'm all for second chances. However, unapologetically rude treatment of customers, including asserting events which never occurred, is categorically unacceptable. If we had been actually informed that a half-and-half pizza could not include two different bases BEFORE the pizza was actually produced and served, this review would likely have been a lot shorter. In the absence of such acts, and with regard to the acts which have already transpired, I'd find it quite difficult to return to this branch - the Binjai Park and Bedok branches have generally...
Read morepeperoni pizzeria is no stranger to many of you but did you know they’ve recently revamped their menu introducing new dishes that’s bound to satisfy even the pickiest of tastebuds?
Take for example their Citrus Avocado with Ice Plant. As someone who vehemently dislikes vegetables, I found this dish strangely likeable. Comprising of Avocado, Ice Plant, Cherry Tomato, Red Radish, Orange Segment, Ricotta Crumb, Hazelnut and Orange Vinaigrette, this was a citrusy and refreshing dish that’ll do well in kicking start your appetite.
The Roasted Cauliflower may not sound as tantalising as their other dishes but never judge a book by its cover. It’s unassuming outlook of a cauliflower with wisps of charred ends on its florets sitting innocently on a pool of sauce made from Sumac, Yoghurt, Tahini, Garlic, Honey, White Sesame, Majoram, Oregano, Thyme, Parsley will leave you going mm and ahhs.
Then came the star of the meal, the famous XXL pizza that they are renowned for. The pizza had elasticity in the middle and slightly charred bubbles on the edges, promising a satisfying crunch to the crust. Dressed in Salmon & Kale with Umami Sauce on 1 side, the kale may look somewhat wilted in the heat but it was crisp and buried under a snowfall of salmon chunks and dressing. The Burrata & Prosciutto is a fail safe option and needless to say, was pretty bomb.
They all go very nicely with their sweet, sprightly and refreshing Aperol Slushie which helps to wash...
