Mixed First Impressions – Great Service, Decent Food, But Some Misses
Our first experience at the door left much to be desired. Staff stood around somewhat clueless and unwelcoming — no greeting, no smiles. For a place with a reputation, this was quite underwhelming. There was a queue outside as guests were ushered to their reserved tables. While the process was quick and ran like clockwork, it felt impersonal.
A real shame that we were seated at a table right by the door. It was disruptive due to foot traffic, and the nearby pizza oven added an uncomfortable level of heat. The décor itself was nice — I particularly liked the clever wine bottle display — and the ambience was what you'd expect of a busy, bustling pizzeria. But with the back of my chair just inches from the entrance, it definitely impacted the overall dining experience.
We were lucky to have Yati serve us. She was quick, pleasant, and knowledgeable — an absolute gem! She checked in on our food, made light conversation, and thoughtfully catered to our dietary requests. Her service truly stood out and lifted the experience.
Now to the food. While I understand that starters aren’t meant to be large — especially at a pizza-focused joint — I felt the selection was weak. Given the ambience, price point, and extensive wine list, the starters could be better curated. A few cheese options, cured meats, and olives would go a long way.
The Frittatina Napoletana was a letdown. Bland inside, and even the dusting of sea salt couldn’t redeem it. The lasagna, however, was excellent — creamy besciamella, rich bolognese, and gooey melted cheese, all topped off with a beautifully crisp crust. That dish was a clear winner.
Finally, the Diavola pizza — touted as World No.12 — fell short of expectations. While the crust was light and fluffy, it was sadly undercooked. Taste-wise, the addition of anchovies gave it a lovely umami kick, but overall, it didn’t quite live up to the accolade.
Will we be back? Maybe — but we...

For a party of three, we were seated at a square table that was probably better suited for two. But the place is full, so we can understand. The downside was our table was really cramped since we ordered two starters and two pizzas to share.
The Burrata was five-star quality. The fresh creaminess of the cheese matched superbly with the sweetness of the balsamic and tomatoes. And all that topped with “olive oil caviar”, think of them like ikura roes but olive oil.
The Patatine, fried fries, were also good. Paired with the oddly watery homemade mayo, they were really addictive.
The third dish served was the diva, the pizza that won the 19th World Championship. The Provola E Pepe was very tasty and juicy (if that’s the right term to use). It’s like a margherita pizza shot with super soldier serum.
Next was a more “traditional” Bellaria, with mozzarella, burrata and parma ham, with the right amounts of evoo (extra virgin olive oil).
Both pizza were really good. The dough is fluffy and super airy. As the pizzas were fluffy and thin, they don’t serve them sliced at the kitchen. Instead, we were given a pair of golden tailor scissors to cut pizza to the size we want. Quite a novelty.
For dessert, we decided to all share a single serving of Tiramisu. It was quite nice, but just a tiny tad too sweet for my liking.
For a family of three, we had two pizzas and left really stuffed. Initially we thought the pizza might be smaller in size based on the photos. But both came on 12-in plates. So, if you’re a couple on a date, I think you might to order just one pizza and a starter, so you’d have room...
Read moreThe food here is genuinely great. We had three pizzas, Tetti Illuminati, Margherita, and Centro Calabria and all were delicious. The dough was perfectly chewy, flavorful, and light enough to finish a whole pizza individually. We also had desserts, which were just as satisfying. No complaints at all about the food quality.
However, the service was disappointing. We walked in around 8:30 PM and saw several empty tables inside, but the host told us they were reserved. We agreed to sit outside, even though it was hot and humid. We asked at least three times if we could move inside if a table became available, and were told the tables were reserved until 9:30 PM (their last order). But no one ever ended up sitting at those tables, and we still had almost two full hours before closing.
The manager was present, but even with our repeated requests, no solution was offered. It felt like they just didn’t want to seat anyone inside anymore. Honestly, it would’ve been better if they were upfront and told us they were winding down and we would’ve understood.
To make things worse, despite having plenty of staff, no one was checking on tables. We had to flag someone down just to ask for a fan, even though it was uncomfortably warm. Staff weren’t attentive, and we felt like an afterthought.
It really could’ve been a much better experience if we could enjoy such good food in a more comfortable setting and not in the heat and humidity.
Overall, the food is excellent and definitely worth trying, but the service and attentiveness need serious improvement. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously so future guests don’t go through...
