Read about this hawker stall being the 1st muslim stall in Spore being given Michelin ratings...hence popped by to try after visiting the nearby Guan Yin Temple. 1 word that is most appropriate for the dishes served...fresh!! Dishes tried were tahu goreng, mee goreng, lontong and chicken satay... Tahu goreng had very fresh and soft tahu that was deep fried just enough to give it a slight outer layer of crispiness. Topped with sliced lettuce and blanched bean sprouts before being drenched with a grated peanut sauce. A tad spicy but very delicious. Mee rebus had a thick braised sauce over properly blanched noodles...found the sauce a bit sweet foe my liking. Lontong...sedap...fresh ingredients in not too pverly lemak gravy...long time since I walloped until the plate was empty. Satay at 9am in the morning...where to find man : ) ...and in a hawker centre setting. Well marinated skewered chicken was bbq till a slight charred exterior and very soft... Kettupat was moist and soft...an indication of freshly boiled rice that was made today. Stall was very efficient with 4 makciks operating within the small space and a lady boss taking order from the long queue of customers. Was much delighted to be served by the Lady boss who was extremely courteous and humble...not common in stalls that are very popular, with Michelin ratings too. She was asking folks to sit down and will deliver their orders if they had ordered food that require some waiting time...e.g.satay Yoy would have to be seated near the vicinity of the stall...else just take a seat and wait for your order Stall warrant a return for sure ...to try other dishes that had a high order rate ..like satay, mee rebus and lontong.

Lontong Sayur Lodeh (SGD $4) @ Pondok Makan Indonesia. . This stall has been recognised since July 2019 by the Michelin guide, but I've enjoyed their rendition from as early as April 2012. . Their broth is thin yet tasty with earthy savoury sweet spice flavour, with chunky compressed rice cakes that hold softly together with grainy sweet flavour. . The stewed vegetables (cabbage, carrots, string beans, jicama turnip) are soft and chunky too, with pleasant vegetal sweet spice flavour. . A bouncy hard boiled egg with eggy sweet flavour, a spongy tofu bean curd with grainy sweet flavour, and fragrant crumbly toasted grated coconut lending earthy nutty sweet flavour, completes. . . . Mee Soto (SGD $5) @ Pondok Makan Indonesia. . Established sometime around the 1960s, this stall has attained a Michelin Guide recommendation, on the strength of their variety of dishes which are consistently well executed. . Their rendition has a full-flavoured chicken soup / broth, thick and cloudy, resplendent with turmeric, carrying meaty salty savoury spice flavour. . Garnished with chewy yellow egg noodles, crisp bean sprouts, tender bone-in and boneless with light and dark chicken meat, crisp coriander, and soy chili. Has combined grainy sweet vegetal earthy herbal meaty savoury salty spice flavour. . Plus a chunky soft begedil / fried potato patty with starchy salty spice earthy savoury flavour.

Visiting the nearby temple for more than 3 decades, my parents haven't tried the Malay food here until i brought them today. I could only say that they have missed out one of the nicest food here!! Mee Rebus - One of the most affordable and best taste i have ever had! Being a Mee Rebus lover whom have eaten Malay, Chinese, relatives' and own version, i can say that the salty and sweet combi are balanced. At first mouthful, you could already feel like a homely makcik cooking Mee Rebus for you - very comfy taste. Portion suitable for office people, just enough for you to buy an additional afternoon kopi/teh to perk you up. Satay (Chicken/Mutton) - It is hard to find 70 cents/pc satay with meaty sticks in Singapore! (I could only find 90 cents AND with combi of small/tiny chunks of fat and meat per stick) Furthermore, both mutton and chicken meat are soft enough for seniors to bite and chew. My parents like it very much that there is no gamey taste for mutton. The kakaks are very friendly and helpful - they will help to serve the satay plate/other orders to our table without going for second trip. Definitely would come back again for many rounds and other varieties!!
