Walk-in wait was about 30-45 min during peak period at 615pm. There were chairs to sit so the wait was very bearable even with two young children. Kids enjoyed the seaweed appetizer as it was crispy and not salty. The radish appetizer was a tad too salty for me. Other than that, the ca fen was indeed flavorful and delicious. My hubby’s all-time fav lychee sweet and sour pork did not disappoint. The batter was so thin and the pork was so tender. Every outlet of Putein we’ve been to has mastered cooking this dish so well. The kids polished their kids’ meal so that’s a thumbs up from them as well. We enjoyed the egg plant with pork floss as well. We ordered 3 portions and was told that each portion comes with 8 egg plant slices so you might want to take that into consideration. We ended our dinner with two desserts. The adults like the double-boiled pear and the kids loved the texture of the loquat jelly. We are very happy to have our dinner here and Sia who arranged our table made it extra pleasant as he kept his composure and focus throughout the stressful period of having to deal with so many customers and the turnover of the tables. Ah Qing who took our orders before we had a table made me smile as well. She was very cheery and I could tell she enjoyed what she was doing.
The other service staff who were prompt with clearing our table once we finished the food also made the dining experience a pleasant one....
Read moreThe service staff from allocation of seats to those serving at the table and even to the cashier were top notch. The staff taking order by the entrance even checked with every group of customers if they had any allergies as orders were taken. I think he will advise against certain dishes if one has an allergy. But so far, when I stood there waiting to place my order, none had any food allergy. I just think it’s so professional of him to check on that. Food were served piping hot. Portions were definitely generous! Look at the cabbage rice for one. Definitely can feed a few people. Somehow I couldn’t excess the picture of the Lor Mee which tasted absolutely gorgeous! I think there’s some rice wine added to the dish which makes the taste special. Highly recommend this dish. The cabbage in the cabbage rice and cabbage soup will be easier for consumption if they were cut into smaller pieces. The taste is great except the beancurd in the soup had a stale oil taste so we left the rest untouched after eating one piece each. Thankfully, it didn’t spoil the taste of the soup! Will definitely recommend the soup too! It is rich in ingredients with deep fried garlic, pork, shell fish, cabbage and beancurd. Orange juice was real fresh orange juice and not from the package. Definitely worth paying $4.80 for it! Overall, I will return for a visit if I happen to visit...
Read moreWent a few days ago during CNY Eve Eve, and service was really exceptional! At the start when when we were choosing our set menu, manager asked us if we had any allergies and made sure not to put any chilli or alcohol in the dishes as my mom couldn’t eat those. She also recommended us to save money and get the 4 person set (though we were 5 pax) as it was a bit expensive to get the 5 person set, and serving portion was enough.
During lohei, staff were really enthusiastic in asking us to say “收到” after their wishes, getting us to say louder each time and also lou higher (most places I go to, they just say their wishes as per their job and don’t specially help u enjoy the process). As for the taste, it was all quite nice and yusheng had a very nice fragrant limey taste to it that blended everything well together.
Although I think the aircon above our set wasn’t working well, they had a table fan for us to use.
However, the only thing that struck me was that the 4 person set really only had 4pc of abalone in the yusheng, and some things like 棚菜 also had only 4pcs of each item — so our 5th person couldn’t eat...
