“The Veggie Lovers” went to Sona's Grill Restaurant at Icon Village in Singapore.
We visited Sona’s Grill Restaurant during lunch time on a Monday. We walked in the restaurant without making prior bookings and decided to take the Lunch Buffet which was at a competitive price of 19.90SGD per person. I was pleasantly surprised with the hospitality and warmth at this place. I loved the Bollywood music in the background which add a great vibe!
As the lunch time hit, there was a rush of office teams for lunch. The lunch was freshly prepared, didn’t have the greasy texture or the red pre made gravy like any other Indian restaurants. The ambience is relaxed and the staff were super friendly.
Buffet offerings: • Food: oVegetarian Options: Channa Salad, Green salad, pickle, Snack: Spring roll, Mix Naan (Breads), Biryani Rice, Daal Makhani, Corn Palak, Paneer Tikka Masala, Gulab Jamun oNon Vegetarian Options: Mutton Curry, Butter Chicken •Drinks: Drinks were not included and we skipped ordering any!
My ratings are based on PAST; stands for Price/ Ambience/ Service/ Taste •Price: The buffet options were quite a few to choose at a reasonable price. My bill was around 43.6 SGD including Service charges and GST which is great for the variety which was offered. •Ambience: Ambience was decent, neat and clean. •Service: Service was prompt and the servers were friendly. •Taste: Food was yummy especially the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Corn curry. We requested for fresh breads and were served on the table which was a thumbs up! We ended with a Gulab Jamun and called it a DAY!
I did enjoy our meal overall and will come back soon to enjoy the food! Big thumbs up for buffet options, Price point, taste and service!...
Read moreMy experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Upon reading the menu, I was intrigued by the 'Fish Tikka Masala', which was described as a fusion of chicken tikka flavors with spices and gravy. Excited to try a dish that promised the best of both worlds, I placed my order. However, when my dish arrived, I was dismayed to find only fish on my plate.
It's crucial for restaurants to accurately represent their menu items, as it sets expectations for customers. This discrepancy between the menu description and the actual dish led to a deeply unsatisfactory dining experience.
In the future, I urge the restaurant to pay closer attention to their menu descriptions to avoid disappointing customers. It's essential for customers to be able to trust that what they order is what they'll receive. This experience has unfortunately left me hesitant to return to this...
Read moreHave absolutely no idea how this shop is still around however the servers were nice and polite which is the only salvageable thing about this place. There aren’t any customers around which isn’t a great sign. The chicken is days old, we got tandoori, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, saj and biriyani. The texture of the chicken in the sauces are all rubbery and the tandoori is dry. Biriyani (which usually comes with some curry) doesn’t come with curry and we got charged extra for tiny serving of it (literally 5 tablespoons of old tasteless curry), the Saj was okay. Everything is overpriced, you’ll get your money’s worth at a hawker center or any mama shop. Was also out of most drinks. Dead restaurant, should’ve went with our gut feeling about picking this place but we were in a pickle & hungry. Wishing them good luck tho maybe they can turn things...
