Was in the area and it was near lunch time. Decided to drop by and try the once famous Sin Ming Bak Kut Teh. This place was pretty popular back during the 90s. I remember my parents brought me here for lunch or dinner.
Now it was my turn to bring my wife and kids here for lunch. Many things have changed over the years in this neighborhood. Hopefully the taste still remains.
We ordered the pork rip soup, pig trotter and pork liver soup with 2 serving of white rice š. The coffee shop was pretty pack during lunch hours because of the workshops nearby.
First taste of the soup was peppery but not flavorful enough lack of the punch it used to be. The pork rip was hard and too tough for my liking. The pig trotter was pretty average and bland compare to others. The pork liver was thick cut and overly cooked.
I guess the chef has retired and the current wan is not living up the name.
Overall a 3 ā and I probably won't return again. There are much better options...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally trying them again after theyāve moved over to its current location at Kola Food Centre. A little inaccessible if you arenāt traveling by car and unfamiliar with the area, but the food is totally worth the trip. Delicious flavorful soup thatās neither too peppery nor too bland. Tender pork ribs that peel off easily, yet still fleshy enough and full of flavor to give the mouth the satisfaction of chewing into them. The fritters were crispy and goes perfectly with the soup, and the braised peanuts were delicious! Not forgetting the soy sauce chili which is a great complement! Itās thick, salty, and if it isnāt spicy enough, a bite into one of the chili padi will do the trick! At $22 for both of us, this is a very reasonable cost of $11 per pax. The portion is very generous given its cost (we each had 4-5 ribs!), and of course as with most bak kut teh stalls in Singapore, the soup is refillable ā¤ļø Definitely worth the trip back again, and its most value for money when you bring friends along to share the...
